Is it against Catholic teaching or against Catholic to hope if not actually pray for a papacy to end?

I don't think so; but I'm willing to be corrected.

Also, I might be naive, gullible etc but I believe or hope the next papacy would simply have to be an improvement or perhaps it may take 50 to 100 for another good papacy. Aren't we as Catholic Christians meant to think in centuries?

I don't think it is against Catholic TRADITION to hope if not pray for a papacy to end.

Paul, be careful what you pray for. I recommend praying for the guidance of the Holy Spirit. What He does with His lightning is up to Him.

I ask for prayers for the soul of my grandfather Bede Carnot who fought at both Gallipoli and the Western Front and was awarded a Military Medal and Military Medal with bar for bravery in battles at both Gallipoli and the Western Front in the so called War to end wars.
