Sandro Magister, that great Italian blogger, as all Italians are great, provides us with this bombshell evaluation on the 50th anniversary of Musicam Sacram of 1967. This is interesting especially coming on the heals of Pope Francis remarks yesterday on the banal state of music today in the vernacular liturgy. His Holiness' remarks were given a very prominent space by Vatican Radio on their website.
In the mixed bag that is the current papacy, the Sistine Choir has nonetheless been improved under the current pontificate.
