We Are Church International (WAC) confirmed to PinkNews that they will be participating in the Jubilee of Synodal Teams, held from 24 – 26 October 2025, as “another participating organisation”.
The group’s attendance is a positive sign for the LGBTQ+ community as the Pope has openly aired scepticism of LGBTQ+ reforms, declaring that family is “founded upon the stable union between a man and a woman”. He has, however, confirmed that blessings of same-sex marriages will remain.
I don’t know anything about that organization. I think Dignity was represented in previous discussion groups, but not Courage, which is orthodox. As it concerns blessings of same sex marriages, or couples, Pope Francis made it clear, by way of an interview, that in no way are same sex marriages blessed by FS, but rather individuals and that it is not a formal blessing, but a causal made-up blessing extended to the individuals, even if they are living in sin. Pope Leo needs to codify what Pope Francis said in an interview which is no way to make a magisterial statement but he did say it!
