There seems to be a concerted attempt to put pressure on Leo to reverse TC which I suspect will be counterproductive. Whereas I suspect a more low key effort would be more likely to be effective. If he changes course now it will give a green light to other causes to follow suit.
TC was the work of a nasty, corrupt man - it should be reversed. Next the failed Novus Ordo should be suppressed and the Church should revert to the TLM and and then work on an experimental Liturgy which actually follows Sacrosanctum Conciłium and re-assess it every 5 years to see if it is working!
It is also true, however, that in no area has the Pontiff crossed the line set by his predecessor. On the contrary, there have been signs of a reversal: “Marriage is not an ideal but the measure of true love between a man and a woman”, he said on 31 May 2025, correcting Amoris laetitia; in his speech to government leaders on 21 June Leo, along the lines of Benedict XVI, Pope Leo firmly defended natural law, “written not by human hands, but acknowledged as valid in all times and places”; on 9 July, in a homily at Castel Gandolfo he seemed to correct the green ideology so prized by Francis; in the audience of 13 August he affirmed that Judas Iscariot chose to exclude himself from salvation with his betrayal, in contrast with Pope Bergoglio, who had said he did not know whether Judas had gone to hell. In a letter addressed on 17 August to the ecclesial conference of the Amazon he condemned the worship of nature, putting Christ and the Eucharist at the centre of evangelisation.
I don’t think Pope Leo will be vindictive as Pope Francis was in his style of governing. I have no idea what Leo will do with the mess that Francis left him as it concerns Pope Francis’ hatred of rigid people, doctors of the law and backwardists (about 2/3rds of practicing Catholics). But Leo has been a genius in reversing Pope Francis through “less official” talks: 1. To Amazon bishops—care for the earth but don’t worship her (Pachamma) 2. Use the pre-Vatican II moralist, St Alphonsus Liguori as the model for moral theologians today 3. Marriage is a Sacrament between one man and one woman, not an “Idea” as Francis once said 4. Leo has spoken too of Natural law on several occasions, and encouraged Catholic politicians not to separate their Catholic Faith from their political and public lives (something Francis never encouraged). So maybe as it concerns the TLM, he will confirm what the Columbus, Ohio bishop recently said about the TLM and free it that way?
Judas Iscariot may have chosen to exclude himself from salvation with his betrayal, but we cannot be certain that he’s gone to hell as God is forever merciful. On the other hand, Judas’s betrayal was necessary for our salvation.

What do you think about Leo’s new appointments to the Dicastery of the Clergy?
