I WONDER HOW MANY PEOPLE EVEN KNOW WHAT A PALINDROME IS AND WHY THIS WEEK IS PALINDROME WEEK?

This week is palindrome week! A palindrome is a word, phrase, or sequence that reads the same backward as forward, e.g., madam or nurses run. Why is this week Palindrome week? Because the dates of this week are palindromes!

 I kid you not:

 9/10/19; 9/11/19; 9/12/19; 9/13/19; 9/14/19; 9/15/19; 9/16/19; 9/17/19; 9/18/19; 9/19/19 !!!! How cool is that!

Are there any Catholic Palindromes out there?

Not specifically Catholic, but Adam spoke a palindrome to Eve when he introduced himself:

"Madam, I'm Adam."

"Madam, I'm Adam" is a classic. It can be expanded to "Madam In Eden, I'm Adam."

Others I love include:

"A man, a plan, a canal, Panama!"

"Able was I ere I saw Elba." (Napoleon)

"Was it a rat I saw?"

"Do geese see God?"

Great fun...

The first (9/9/19) is not palindromic; the others are only if you adhere to the US convention of putting the month first (Canadians are even worse, putting the year first, which would make today 19/9/11).

When it comes to international trade, it can be a problem if two systems are in use. In the system that prevails in most places, the dates will be palindromic on the ninth days of October, November and December this year (9/10/19, 9/11/19, 9/12/19).
