CNN is reporting as breaking news this Saturday evening, that there well may be a trilateral meeting with Zelensky, Putin and Trump as soon as this Friday. Multiple European leaders are invited on Monday at the White House when Trump meets with Zelenskyy. 

This is what President Zelensky just wrote on his X account:

Today, following a conversation with President Trump, we further coordinated positions with European leaders. The positions are clear. A real peace must be achieved, one that will be lasting, not just another pause between Russian invasions. Killings must stop as soon as possible, the fire must cease both on the battlefield and in the sky, as well as against our port infrastructure. All Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilians must be released, and the children abducted by Russia must be returned. Thousands of our people remain in captivity – they all must be brought home. Pressure on Russia must be maintained while the aggression and occupation continue. In my conversation with President Trump, I said that sanctions should be strengthened if there is no trilateral meeting or if Russia tries to evade an honest end to the war. Sanctions are an effective tool. Security must be guaranteed reliably and in the long term, with the involvement of both Europe and the U.S. All issues important to Ukraine must be discussed with Ukraine’s participation, and no issue, particularly territorial ones, can be decided without Ukraine. I thank our partners who are helping. Today, there is an important statement from European leaders that strengthens our position. We continue working together – Europeans, Americans, and everyone in the world who wants peace and stability in international relations.

European leaders ready to support trilateral meeting between US, Ukraine and Russia

European leaders have said they are "ready to work with US President Trump and Ukrainian President Zelenskyy towards a trilateral summit with European support," in a statement issued by the European Commission on Saturday.

"It will be up to Ukraine to make decisions on its territory. International borders must not be changed by force," the statement read, which was released a few hours after the conclusion of a meeting between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The statement was signed by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and European Council President António Costa.

Several leaders of the so-called Coalition of the Willing will meet via a video call with Zelenskyy on Sunday ahead of the Ukrainian President's visit to Washington, the French presidency office said in a statement.
