MODERN MASS TOO REGIMENTED AND CHOREOGRAPHED?

I keep getting short videos on my Facebook feed of a religious order that I don’t know anything about, “the Heralds of the Gospel”. They celebrate the modern Mass but in a somewhat odd and very regimented choreographed way.

Does anyone know anything about this order?

They have what appears to be a ton of vocations. They wear an odd habit and they are very regimented in their movements, almost like toy soldiers.

The movements are a creativity of another kind imposed upon the Modern Mass. As others have said here, no one seems to like the Modern Mass as it is written and with its simple rubrics. There is constant creativity either of a traditional or untraditional type to improve it.

But all the improving is “ad hoc” meaning someone’s idea of new and improved.

It’s all so very odd, no?

WATCH THE FACEBOOK BRIEF VIDEO HERE TO SEE WHAT I MEAN..

And here is a video I just discovered that answers the question about who this order is:

The Heralds of the Gospel are a Catholic religious organization, officially International Private Association of Christ's Faithful of Pontifical Right, founded by Msgr. João Scognamiglio Clá Dias in Brazil in 1999 and recognized by the Vatican in 2001. They evangelize through beauty and apostolic life, living in community houses, practicing celibacy, and engaging in outreach to young people and families. Inspired by the Tradition, Family, and Property (TFP) movement and devoted to Mary, they emphasize the Eucharist, serve in dioceses and parishes, and have established a network of education and media

I watched one of their sung masses here:

They sing the Sanctus during the offetory and then again at the correct time, very strange indeed. This isn’t even a traditional option. I’d say this is an example of it saying the black and doing the red!

In 2017, the Vatican instituted an Apostolic Visitation of the Heralds under the direction of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life. On 12 June 2017 Msgr. Clá Dias stepped down as Superior General but continued to be "father" of the Heralds.[9][10] The visitation found "shortcomings concerning the style of government, the life of the members of the Council, the pastoral care of vocations, the formation of new vocations, administration, the management of works and fundraising."[11] As a result of the visitation, Pope Francis appointed Cardinal Raymundo Damasceno Assis, Archbishop Emeritus of Aparecida, as Pontifical Commissioner, to be assisted by Bishop José Aparecido Gonçalves de Almeida and Sister Marian Ambrosio I.D.P. in overseeing the Heralds and its two branches of consecrated men and women.[12] The Heralds are "strongly linked to groups in the Church which oppose the reforms of Pope Francis."[13]
An element in this investigation was a video presented by Andrea Tornielli,[14] in an article published in the newspaper La Stampa,[9][15] which showed several members of the Heralds of the Gospel listening to a description of an "exorcism". "In the video, a priest standing next to the founder read several claims made by a demon during an exorcism, claiming that 'the Vatican is mine' and foretelling the death of Pope Francis, causing some in the group, including Cla Dias, to laugh."[12][13] At that time the Heralds issued a clarification note stating that this was an old video and that the leak had occurred improperly as it was for theological studies. It further clarified that all the appropriate steps had been taken under Canon Law and in light of the Catholic theology.[16]

They sound like a cult!

Certainly has some aspects of that and the militarizing of religious life and the liturgy. The high boots have a bit of an off putting Naxi influence…
