TO THE NATIONAL CATHOLIC REPORTER ON THIS ARTICLE: DUH!

Do public leaders, like the pope, have a right to privacy concerning their health? Yes, they have a right to disclose or not disclose what ails them.

But reporters have a right to dig and investigate and report on a leader’s health issues.

Pope Francis biggest health issue right now is called “aging”. And its ultimate outcome for someone 85 years old is decline and death. That’s life.

This pope has limped ever since being elected. They say it is sciatica. But now, he can hardly walk and is curtailed in what he can do liturgically and adjustments are being made for him, but in an unfortunate progressive way setting a horrible example for other clergy his age, no vestments for Mass when not celebrating and not even a stole when preaching during Mass. UGH!

I’m not a doctor, but there seems to me to be three things going on in addition to sciatica. Perhaps he needs a knee and hip replacement? Why hasn’t that taken place? Is it too dangerous of a surgery for a man his age with perhaps colon cancer?

And then the other issue. The NCR says a doctor told them the pope is over weight and eats too much pasta. I think his stomach is distended and not due to pasta but other reasons.

But here is the NCR’s seemingly nonsensical lead story on their webpage this morning. I like Christopher White’s reporting. But I think he needs to dig deeper, no?

Argentine doctor: Losing weight would ease Pope Francis' knee pain

Off topic, Father McDonald, but things are really getting crazy on the political left, particularly among fake Catholics:

"Octogenarian House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the third in line for presidential succession, is slated to appear in a drag show hosted by RuPaul. The show, titled RuPail’s Drag Race All-Stars, is scheduled to premiere on May 20th.

Perhaps more amazing than the fact that Pelosi is appearing in this event at all is the fact that this isn’t the first time she’s done it. Readers might recall that Pelosi pulled a similar stunt in 2018, around the time then-president Donald Trump was considering barring individuals suffering from gender dysphoria from serving and preventing taxpayers from paying for so-called affirmative surgeries. That particular law went into effect in 2019 but was reversed by Trump’s successor in 2021."

Being a Democrat is really incompatible with being Catholic.

You might be right, Fr. AJM. It doesn't have the look of someone who has been hitting the groceries a little too hard. Unfortunately, and obviously, we're not in the doctor's office hearing the good/bad news and suggestions to sustain/mitigate. I'm not a fan of what Francis has done as Pope. Putting that aside, and as a human who cares about other humans, I sincerely pray for him to find relief and be well.

The Holy Father may be over eating in reaction to the stress of his job and the chronic pain of his joints and other health issues.

as someone who is going through horrible knee pain, put off replacement because of covidiocracy, I can tell you it is easy to put on weight when you don't feel like walking. As a dairy farmer I'm used to being active and because of this dang knee (and I do like good food) I've put on 30 plus pounds. As soon as crops are off this fall and my son can handle day to day work, It's getting done.

Speaking of drag, did ya see those pics of Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) wearing big loop earrings and ladies' lingerie?

Methinks he might want to get in touch with Aaron Shock (former R-IL) for a little discussion...

Fr. K,

How short is YOUR Democrat memory: Barney Frank, Jerry Studds, Bill Clintoon, Ted Kennedy, etc.

Now how is abortion "healthcare?"
