Can't say I'm sold on the peeking-around-and-over the altar angels. They're very B-R-I-G-H-T at present, causing distraction.
They remind me of the first iteration of the side altars in the renovation you did at. St. Joseph's that had to be "toned down" from brilliantly sparkling to subtly shimmery.
Maybe it's the lighting, but right now they seem to me to be far too much.
The newly restored angels at at the CATHEDRAL BASILICA OF ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST in Savannah.
Fr. ALLAN McDonald is at ST. ANNE CHURCH in Richmond Hill.
Had I gushed and cooed over the angels, it would have been ZERO compliment to our genial blog host. They're not in his church and he had nothing to do with their installation.
It will come as a surprise to some that the person who first mentioned to me the issues with the side chapel decorations at St. Joseph Church was . . . . Fr. ALLAN McDonald.
Some people should not assume to know things that they cannot know.
Unless Fr. ALLAN McDonald himself was responsible for designing and installing the decorations on the side chapels at St. Jospeh Church in Macon, my comments could not be taken, by any reasonable person, to be a "shot" at him.
You're more recent post provides a better photo of the new mural art behind / alongside the high altar. I like it! I like the addition of some color back there! I don't feel that absolutely every square inch must be revealed to every sightline in the church at every moment to be successful. Veiling and the iconostas partially obscuring our view is part of our mindset in the East. As mortals, we cannot "see" all however, the open gates of the iconostas provides a glimpse of what awaits us should we live our lives in the friendship of our Lord.

I believe I recognize Fr. Paul O'Connell in his little brown trilby hat.
I think the shiny gold background amplifies the brightness of the lights reflecting off of it.
Fr McDonald,
Fr “Jealous” can never pay you a compliment, sad.
It was nice seeing the young friar at the luncheon in his habit, next to a priest who should stay with the Lenten fast year round

And you wonder why...
Fr. Jealous was Father McDonald not at St. Joseph’s which YOU referenced? Tsk, tsk

Well then you should said that instead of appearing to taking a shot at Father McDonald!

Fr Jealous - LOL- you are the snark king! "Reasonable people" don't vote for a party that views abortion as "healthcare."
