WEDNESDAY MORNING'S ORDINARY FORM MASS

Didn't have time to put these in right order. We have Solemn Exposition and Adoration after our Wednesday and Thursday daily Mass. This is the first ad orientem OF Mass in this parish and using the newly restored to the right location altar railing:

This is splendid. However, the photographs show the congregation to be of 'a certain age'. Traditional practices, and above all the use of Latin, are increasingly attractive to much younger people, not least younger priests.

The success of the Oratorians in England is a case in point. The idea those under thirty want sloppy vernacular liturgy accompanied by pop music, and have no time for traditional devotions, is patently and demonstrably false. It was equally false in 1980 when I was under thirty, and belonged to the generation which had been raised on the Tridentine Mass.

John, this may be due to the time of day on a weekday Mass. I have to say that our local weekday Masses are assisted by those of ‘a certain age’. Everyone else is at work or school.

Yes, our daily Mass is at 9 AM and our EF Low Mass is on Tuesdays at 6 PM.

We are a bedroom community of Savannah, so everyone evacuate Richmond Hill in the morning to commute to work and returns in the evening. We have no real work force here other than restaurants and stores, no major industries.

The parish is very young actually, with young families have many children some with 4 to 8! That's very refreshing.
