"In response to Sunday’s desecration, the chancellor of the diocese called attention to a rise in attacks on and desecrations of churches and synagogues."

Is anything like this happening in Protestant churches? Are Lutherans, Episcopalians, Methodists, Baptists or any other sects experiencing this? So far as I can see, no--but perhaps I am wrong.

If I could guess, I would say the motivation to attack the synagogues is rooted in Anti-Semitism, but what motivates the attacks on Catholic churches?

Could it be because we are STILL the only Church that doesn't bless divorce and remarriage? Could it be because we are STILL the only Church that won't bless homosexual unions and recognized same-sex attractions as a disorder? Could it be because we are the only Church that finds no rational excuse for abortion?

Could it be because we are the One, True Church?

You’ll notice he didn’t do that in Texas.

Yes, Texas.

More guns do not result in greater personal security.

By the way, Texas ranks 18th in guns per capita. #1 is Wyoming.

That was dramatic. You should have a professional look into your gun fetish. A simple beat down would be sufficient.

I was surprised that the priest continued with Mass. Chapter 20 of the Ceremonial of Bishops says that after a desecration, "...divine worship may be celebrated in the church only after penitential reparation for the wrong done." "Reparation for the desecration of a church is to be carried out with a penitential rite as soon as possible. Until that time neither the Eucharist nor any other Sacrament or rite is to be celebrated in the church." It then goes on to describe the rite. Don't they teach these things to the priests in the seminary? Maybe they should cut down on the amount of time teaching social justice and use the time on teaching good liturgy.
