Given the gun violence in America, this photo causes quite a negative reaction in me.
Even hunting for food entails pain and death for a creature.
Do we bless electric chairs, guillotines and torture devices like snares?
There is something wrong with this:

The acme of marksmanship is the single fatal shot. Since a beast will die to feed us then it is the responsibility of the shooter to make the death as quick as possible. This is true whether in the slaughterhouse or the field.
I have no issue with it.
If it’s a rifle or pistol issued to a member of the police or armed forces, and the Church has no objection to the government’s of those forces, a blessing sounds legitimate. To bless any and every gun in a gun store or at a shooting range, or anyone who asks to have their gun blessed? I don’t think so. IMHO
Fr Fox, we still need to make that dove and pigeon hunt.
Postscript to my prior comment:
After thinking about it, I would certainly bless a gun, as I would any tool, unless I thought someone intended to make bad use of it or if the blessing was some sort of joke. But I might suggest no picture be taken.

I would enjoy that! As long as I don't have to spray on animal pee.
I agree wholeheartedly with Fr. Fox. A car can be blessed but if driven by a drunk driver, can and does kill. I think it's the intent of its use.
