Last night, a Jeopardy contestant swept the television category to the audience's adulation as well as that of Alex Trevec.
But this was the "Final Jeopardy" answer:
This island was discoverd by Alphonse d'Alburquerque 40 days after Easter who gave the island its name.
ALL THREE CONTESTANTS GOT THE QUESTION WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, the humanity!
Do you know the question?

Of course. What is Ascension Island?
(If only I had known the Final Jeopardy Question when I was on the show!!!)
Maybe their Province celebrates Ascension Thursday on the following Sunday making Ascension 43 days after Easter which certainly must have thrown all three contestants!

Yes Father, apparently you and I were watching Jeopardy at the exact same time.
Because I have noticed the trend of a general increasing "illiteracy" when it comes to Western Christian culture, I actually made a "Final Jeopardy wager" with myself that NONE of the contestants would get the right answer. Sadly, I would have "won" that wager.
More and more contestants, with each passing year, demonstrate that they simply have no general knowledge about the Bible, religion in general, or Christianity in particular.
Gaudete in Domino Semper!
Richard - I notice Jeopardy contestants' illiteracy regarding nursery rhymes mostly. I'm always pleased when someone does get a religion or Bible question.
