Today's my 38th anniversary of Ordination to the Sacred Priesthood. I was ordained on a very, very, very, hot, hot, hot, humid, humid, humid Saturday on June 7, 1980 in our Cathedral in Savannah by Bishop Raymond W. Lessard. Two others were ordained with me, Father John Lyons and the late Father Thomas Campbell.
Given the Scottish feud between the Campbells and McDonalds, no fights broke out during the ordination.
I am thankful to God for 38 wonderful years of priesthood and that the good Lord has preserved my 26 year old looks!

So that’s what you look like! Wow back in your ordination days you would have been the poster boy for the spirit of Vatican II with your looks ;)
Thank you and may God continue to Bless you and your work.
Father McDonald, thank you for having heeded God when He called you into His holy priesthood.
Thank you, Father, via your blog/posts/comments, for having taught me about God and His ways. You have blessed me abundantly.
You are my favorite blogger. Thank you for having allowed me, an utter nobody, to post here.

Congratulations, Father, and thank you!
Congratulations Fr. McDonald! You are a blessing to the the Church and we miss you in Macon!!
Priests serve an indispensable role through the nature and virtue of their office in their being instruments in the hands of the Divine Priest, Christ Jesus, in conveying grace through His Holy and Divine Sacraments. They are God's ordained servants in administering to us His power of forgiving sins and bringing to us the Body, Blood soul and Divinity of His Son in the Holy Eucharist. In all of even the most noble things men on earth are occupied in doing, what can be greater than that of a priest?
The priesthood is the most noble of callings. Let us thank God for the men such as Father McDonald that have answered the call, and to pray for him and other priests in carrying out the work and mission they have been called to do. Let us also pray for others yet to do so, to respond to the great need for priests and to likewise answer the call.
Axios!
Axios! May God grant you many happy and blessed years!
Thank you for your vocation Father. I always prayer for good and holy vocations to the Church. May God protect you and reward you for answering His call.
Congrats Fr McDonald! A job well done with more to do. Thank you.
