On His Holiness flight back from Ireland, Pope Francis stated that he would not say one thing about the Vigano testimony. But His Holiness, maybe under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, did ask the reporters to do their job. It appears that Der Spiegel has heeded the Holy Father with their 19 page report on His Holiness. It isn't yet completely translated into English, but I am sure it will be.
Let me say this. As a recovering ultramontanist myself, I find this very sad for the papacy, the Magisterium and the Church. Pope Francis could have continued the inner healing that Pope Benedict so desire simply by staying Pope Benedict's course but adding his own unique contribution to the enhancement of the Church's pastoral theology and his down to earth touch with the laity. But even here, His Holiness has divided sympathetic Catholics with slurs and insults about those who like to start with the law and work under the laws of God and the Church. Doctors of the Law are not nasty Jews or Catholics. The Holy Father would be well advised to be more ecumenical and understanding in this regard.
Prominent German magazine Der Spiegel has published a 19-page report criticising Pope Francis’s leadership of the Catholic Church and accusing him of ignoring abuse survivors in Argentina.
Their cover story, titled “Thou shalt not lie” and subtitled “The silence of the shepherds”, attacks the Pope’s handling of the abuse crisis and his attempted Church reforms.
“Pope Francis promised when he took office a renewed, cosmopolitan Catholicism,” the magazine says. “Five-and-a-half years and many abuse cases later, the Universal Church is divided as never before.”
On his handling of issues such as Communion for Protestant spouses and Communion for the divorced and remarried, Der Spiegel notes that the Pope has been quoted as saying privately: “I may go down in history as the one who split the Church”.

The magazine, which is generally regarded as left-liberal, is considered one of the most influential in Europe.

I am certain MT is on an extended investigative reporting trip to Argentina looking for the exculpatory evidence to cleqr PF
How is this surprising? One of the major tenets of leftists is to make friends with the enemy so as to get close enough to betray him. When does naïveté become foolishness? When is one too smart by half?
After listening to two interviews with English writer Henry Sire, I am now reading his book, “The Dictator Pope”. His interviews are on YouTube. I recommend listening to them (one conducted by Edward Pentin) . The book is truly helpful in making sense of Frances but can be very disheartening as to the Pope, his motives as well as the state of the Church.
Kind of like what has happened to NFL football. I don't recall that lefties were ever bigtime football fans but they took an interest solely so they can destroy that institution with their left-wing loon machinations. Funny a lot of little guys, vendors, etc, will lose their livelihood but lefties don't care.
TJM- The loss of jobs is part of the plan. They will shift the blame onto people like me who will no longer support the franchise.
