WHAT IF BIDEN A CATHOLIC, AND REMEMBER, ONCE A CATHOLIC ALWAYS A CATHOLIC, IS ELECTED--WHAT A CONDUMDRUM FOR BISHOPS IN OTHER DIOCESES OTHER THAN WASHINGTON, DC

Vice President, and possibly President-elect Joe Biden, is a Catholic, still in good standing, although rabidly pro-choice even up to birth. He endorses the slaughter of innocents.

Will there be bishops who will forbid him to receive Holy Communion in their dioceses?

At least with President Trump, and his many peccadilloes including invalid marriages,  never would present himself to receive Holy Communion in a Catholic Church, but not so for Vice President Biden.

What to do; what to do; Oh, what are bishops to do??????

Who would Francis vote for??? Who would Francis endorse???

Well, there are a couple of CATHOLICS in the USCCB. Bishop Strickland of Texas comes to mind, but Biden and his supporters aren't likely to ever set foot in that diocese.

Never mind Biden.

What are the bishops to do about that infamous “practising” catholic, Mrs Melanie Trump?
A marriage of convenience to a 3 times bigamist, serial adulterer, with18 credible allegations of sexual assault and rape of a minor with Epstein.
Oh wait, she never goes to church so not a problem.

Joe Biden is now the head of Catholicism in Amerika. He doesn't receive communion from the Bishops, he grants it to them. Melanie does not issue encyclicals on morality, Joseph does. Melanie neither not denies or promotes sin, Joseph does. Melanie is not the leader of Catholics, Joseph is. Joseph has been guiding his flock for 50-years. It is Josephs flock, not Francis's. Wake up and smell the sheep! Shame on the leaders of the Catholic Church.

President Biden. I so do like the sound of that.
Since religious conservatives told us that God chose Trump to be president, then it naturally follows that the Man Upstairs must also be Ridin' With Biden.

Is Joe Biden now in such a state of mental decline he is not aware that if he becomes President Kamala Harris will soon after have him put down?

It is sad to me that all Catholics don't see Mr. Trump for the strong man of faith that we know him to be.
He is not perfect. Like St. Augustine, he misspent a great part of his youth in sin and luxury.
Like St. Peter, he is prone to angry and profane outbursts.
But now as our American President, he has stood up for all human life, for children and women, for the poor in spirit and for the rights of the immigrant and the minorities.
With his lovely wife, the perfect First Lady, and with his handsome son, the Trump family is a God-given representation of the Holy Family.
And yet a majority of Americans reject this kind, humble, devout man. History repeats itself! I fear God's vengeance on this country.

Within the last 24 hours Joe Biden has not only got 2 of his granddaughters mixed up but also introduced one of his granddaughters as his LATE son Beau Biden. This is easy to find online.
As it is easy to find, for example, online footage of Joe Biden introducing his wife as his sister and his sister as his wife; and later introducing himself as “Joe’s husband”......to say nothing of getting the most basic figures mixed up and getting it wrong what state he is in!
This has happened WAY too often.....

If Joe was an average family’s grandad, a relative or relatives would have stepped in by now and taken his car keys from him and seen to it he was receiving the best care and supervision possible.

This is getting close to elder abuse......
AND is it further proof that since c. mid 1980s to mid 1990s, at least, the top people running the biggest transnational corporations and the biggest banks have increasingly become the true rulers of our times ......and thus it does not really matter having a frail old man experiencing serious mental decline as hired help in the White House as the people with real power get on with really running things.

It is sad that the most progressive thing about Biden is his dementia but it is very worrying that it is highly likely that after a short but decent time has passed the obvious will be acknowledged and Ms Kamala Harris will be president of the USA by sometime in 2022; this will not result in any suffering to the ruling corporate oligarchy but very many average people and average Christians will suffer when this happens.

There is a difference between irony and sarcasm; and even sarcasm works better when it is a little more subtle.

He has stated that he does not ask God for forgiveness of his sins.

He is living in an adulterous "marriage" with a "Catholic" woman who is not his wife.

He uses religious symbols for personal, political benefit.

Your statement, "With his lovely wife, the perfect First Lady, and with his handsome son, the Trump family is a God-given representation of the Holy Family" borders on blasphemy. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph were not adulterers and fornicators and habitual liars.

Trump is a man of no faith whatsoever, unless a narcissistic belief in "self" can be considered faith.

Fr. Allan J. McDonald said...

A@8:26, are you a hypocrite, being ironic or sarcastic or all three. If Melania was transgendered, would you be so hard on her for marrying Trump? If Trump espoused the liberal democratic causes as he once did when he was a democrat, would you be so hard on his sexual peccadilloes and immorality? Will you now call out both Clinton's for their immorality? There were financial corruption issues, a dead man who was closely linked to Hillary and she was thought by some to be responsible for his "suicide." Any comment on their morality and suitability to lead this country? Eh?

Father, Hillary Clinton may be the most investigates person in the history of the earth. Trump wanted to “lock her up,” but the last time I looked, she was still walking around. Bill may be second-most. He’s still out there. Bringing up a 20-year-old suicide is a touch of sad desperation. Poor Vince Foster’s family has asked conservatives to stop floating conspiracy theories about his death, yet the loony & the vicious persist. There is zero evidence. Zero. It is false witness, pure & simple. And let’s not apply the “thought by some” standard to Trump, shall we? It’s a beautiful day in Savannah, Father. Have a great day,

Priests and bishops who knowingly provide Holy Communion to Democratic politicians and Democratic voters need to be held accountable. They have forfeited their right to the Sacrament and so have the so-called priests who collaborate with them. Parishes in "blue" areas like Savannah are highly likely to include Democratic voters and any priest with a brain on his head knows this. Why is this allowed? When will the bishops take action?

Eh?

May comments about Trump are factual.

Your comment about Melania is fantasy/hypothetical.

Your comment about what Trump once did is not germane to what he does now.

Neither of the Clintons are in office.

There is nothing but nutty conspiracy theory in the notion that Hillary is connected with murder, just as there is nothing in the theory that John Paul I was murdered for wanting to reform the Vatican Bank.

You can live in your sadly desperate fantasy land. I prefer reality.

Fr. Allan J. McDonald said...

A@8:52, you have made accusations against the Trumps that are all in the sexual realm as though these are on the same level as what Clinton did in the oval office as a person of ultimate authority in this country and taking advantage of a young person infatuated with him and his public office. That alone should have disqualified him as the president, the sexual abuse of this young woman in the most degrading way and in fact he was an accomplice in the oral sodomy taking place.

Trump and Clinton may be tided for sexual promiscuity but as far as we know, Trump hasn't had oral sodomy in the oval office and under his desk with someone he supervised.

And we are to believe the family of Vince Foster without critique. Really?????

AnonK 8:52 said...

Father, we don't have to believe the family of Vince Foster without critique. We could review the $40 million investigation by Republican special prosecutor Kenneth Starr who found no evidence that Foster's death was not a suicide. He found no evidence of any other crimes committed by either Clinton.
We should, however, respect the feelings of a family that's been tormented for a quarter century by people trying, without evidence, to exploit a tragic death for political purposes.
But since you seem set on debating this matter, whay do you believe that Foster's death was not a suicide? Why do you disbelieve the Starr conclusion? What is your evidence beyond "thought by some"? (Some = Trump).
And how does spreading scurrilous accusations befit your station as a Catholic priest?

Anonymous said...

It is irrelevant in the eyes of God whether Foster committed suicide or was murdered. He was killed by the Clintons either way. Hold them responsible, along with Biden, Obama, Polosi, AOC, Stacey Abrams, Al Sharpton, Oprah, Colin Powell, Van Johnson, LeBron James and all of the haters. Speak against our President and pay the price!

Fr. Eric said...

Vince Foster killed himself then neatly laid himself out in the park as if on display in a funeral home. hmmm? But we digress.

History note: Porfirio Diaz, dictator of Mexico 1876 to 1910, had total power, yet the Church prospered immensely during his time. Catholic culture blossomed: 5 new archbishops, 8 new dioceses, religious orders abounded, and Catholic school growth at 214% from 1885 to 1905. After 1891 and Pope Leo XIII's encyclical Rerum Novarum, Catholic faithful organized Eucharistic congresses, which included messages of social reform.

This is not to say that Trump is a dictator or ever would be. He is not a Democrat with 4 terms. Simply put, the freedoms given to us by God can be lived under the most unlikely of messengers.

I voted for freedom of speech and religion and the economy. Strangely, Trump offered that and not Joe Biden, the Catholic.

He (Trump) does not attend church services. (Joe Biden, despite given a scandalous example in what he supports politically does.
He differs significantly with Catholic teaching on the 5 non-negotiables They are:

Abortion
Human Cloning
Euthanasia (assisted suicide)
Stem Cell Research using fetal tissue
Homosexual "Marriage"
)

"He(Trump) has stated that he does not ask God for forgiveness of his sins." (In those things he supports which go against Catholic teaching, Joe Biden would seem to have a presumptuous faith. )

"He(Trump) is living in an adulterous "marriage" with a "Catholic" woman who is not his wife. "(Under Catholic and the teachings of many other religious denominations, yes. But then, Mr. Trump is not a Catholic nor a member of any religious denomination that I am aware of.)

I have not seen a Catholic list of "5 non-negotiables" (which happily coincides with your agenda). Where is that list? Are you saying that racism is not a deal-breaker? As a Catholic, did you vote gleefully for an avowed white supremacist?

Bruh K - The list of non-negotiables begins, "I believe in one God, the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible."

Fact: He(Trump) has stated that he does not ask God for forgiveness of his sins."

Speculation: (In those things he supports which go against Catholic teaching, Joe Biden would seem to have a presumptuous faith. )

Fact: "He(Trump) is living in an adulterous "marriage" with a "Catholic" woman who is not his wife. "

(Under Catholic and the teachings of many other religious denominations, yes. But then, Mr. Trump is not a Catholic nor a member of any religious denomination that I am aware of.) What Mr. Trump's religion is or isn't doesn't matter - adultery is adultery. If a person's religion doesn't prohibit murder, is that person free to murder? Ridiculous.

Fact: "He(Trump) uses religious symbols for personal, political benefit."

Speculation: (Does Joe Biden know the teachings of his own Faith? The Eucharist may as well be a symbol.

If you've heard Joe talk about his faith, he's an old school, pre-V2, memorized-the-Catechism, taught-by-the-nuns Catholic. I'm guessing his knowledge likely matches most if not all of the lay people in this discussion. A friend used to work in DC during Joe's Senate days and said he was a fixture at weekday Mass. Meet him, people say, and you see that he is what he appears to be: a down-to-earth, humble public servant who cares about his family.

Fr. Allan J. McDonald said...

I think Joe Biden is a nice guy, a good family man and loves his family and friends. But like many pre-Vatican II Catholics who went bonkers after Vatican II (my age and older) he is an enabler of mortal sin but disguised as love for the sinner and the sin. He believes as most progressive Catholics my age and older that the sin defines the person, not the fact that we are created in the image and likeness of God (before the fall) and will be restored to that image and likeness through Jesus Christ where there is no hint of sin and He and we are defined by sanctity, holiness and virtue, not by disordered affections or the decisions of a flawed conscience.

I think it likely some new people have come across this blog, or some people are commenting for the first time.
I wonder if it is the one person, or 2 or 3, attempting to mock those who have been Pro-Trump and or anti-Biden in recent times?

The above has inspired me to google: sarcasm, irony, satire and paradox.
Do a little research on these words and improve my knowledge of them; to more clearly understand the distinctions between them....
And write down some notes re this to memorise....

Many people in Britain, Canada and Australia occasionally claim that most Americans often “don’t get irony”;
ie: many people in the USA have an irony deficiency (do you like that pun?)

While this may be true, it is also true that sarcasm and irony can be missed in printed words but would be picked up at once in face to face real life conversations where tone of voice can be heard and facial expressions can be observed and so on.....and also you have some knowledge of the person you are communicating with. Ie: if you heard someone you knew to be a liberal-lefty Catholic start to praise Trump in a silly over the top way you would know at once that person was being sarcastic......but such nonsense written anonymously in a blog comment can be taken by many, or at least some people, as the literal and serious beliefs of a conservative Trump-loving Catholic.

AJP.

Looking at this conversation, one thing is clear: We ALL have our biases. Sometimes a candidate just rubs us the wrong way no matter how much we learn about him. Sometimes the ideas and practices of a party rub us the wrong way. Sometimes we just can't help ourselves.

I have been a member of both parties at one time or another. I have made fun of conservative Republicans for being smug, self-righteous, flag-waving, rednecks addicted to false narratives of patriotism and the sanctimonious mantle of the "moral majority. I have also mocked Democrats for being two-faced moralists who feign concern about the poorest people while secretly pandering to corporations, obsessed with the environment, comprised of geriatric hippies and hustling and exploiting black people to get their votes. All of these stereotypes have some truth in them. All of them are also exaggerations.

One thing has always held true until recently: Both parties apparently wanted to make America better, but just had different ideas about how to get there. I wish that were still the case, but clearly, it is not.

The Democratic party has allied itself with globalists who have a bad plan in place and our pope gives every indication of being on board with the plan. The Democratic party has allied itself with the Culture of Death. The Democratic party has declared open warfare on natural law. The Republican party is not paradise and not a solution to everything, but it IS a place to park during this age of insanity.

I get that a lot of people hate Trump and I know he can be a very difficult personality. But I also appreciate a few things about him: He doesn't back down from what he believes he must do. He has faced nothing but opposition from day 1 of his administration. He has fought off countless unjust probes, investigations and attacks and somehow, manages to do his job. He is not perfect, but when this many people hate a man--and I look at the KIND of people who hate him--I can't help but have a soft spot for him.

Keep praying. Get that rosary out and use it. And pray that God's will is done. Is America finished with Trump? Maybe as president--we'll see. But I don't think God is finished with him yet.

So you think the below are negotiable? Do you know Catholic teaching on the below?:

Abortion
Human Cloning
Euthanasia (assisted suicide)
Stem Cell Research using fetal tissue
Homosexual "Marriage"

Racism can definitely be added to he above but I have heard the term miss-used so much. so decided not to add it.

But yes, Racism as defined by the Church (in the Catechism, yes)

As far as speculation, many do that when it comes to Mr Trump also.

Mr Trump does not view himself as an adulterer. You do, according to the dictates of your religion. God will judge him not you.

Anonymous said...

I believe that the list of non-negotiable above is appropriate because the commenter was referring to Joe Biden and his differences with Catholic teaching when it comes to these issues. One could certainly include racism, but Mr. Biden is not a racist as far as I can tell (hopefully anyway, but then again that is just speculation on my part).

Have a good day, pray often, and think positive thoughts.
