THIS IS WHY GEORGIA IS SEEING RED OVER THE BLUE

All the walking dead in Atlanta went to the polls and it is indeed a zombie apocalypse!

I honestly wanted Trump to win, stay President and serve another 4 years; but right now I don’t have the time to read much about these recent allegations of voting fraud.
I am however reminded of a line from one of my favourite movies...with Anthony Hopkins..

In Oliver Stone’s 1995 “Nixon” a Republican hack says to Nixon, referring to the possibly stolen - eg: a dozen plus fishy incidents in Illinois and Texas - and VERY close 1960 election, in which JFK prevailed... :

“You gotta swallow this one.....They stole it fair and square!”

Trump won 130 counties to just 29 for Biden. Kind of like 1980, longtime Senator Herman Talmadge won 130 counties to 29 for Republican Mack Mattingly. If geography (number of counties won) were the criteria, both Trump and Talmadge would have won landslides in Georgia. I suspect folks in south Georgia would like the county unit system back?!? Or maybe break away from metro Atlanta?

Biden won DeKalb County, of Cynthia McKinney "fame" (or infamy?!?), by 247,000 votes. Fulton, which includes most of the city of Atlanta, by 238,000 votes. Cobb and Gwinnett, 2 formerly Republican suburbs of Atlanta? Biden won them by a combined 129,000 vote.

But hey---Biden got about 60 percent in Chatham County (Savannah) and won handily in Richmond County (Augusta). So don't just blame metro Atlanta!

I held my nose for Trump, but i suspect a lot of other people in metro Atlanta were just tired of the 3am tweets, inflammatory rhetoric, and just in general "unpresidential" behavior. He was even complaining about his 300k lead disappearing in Georgia, but anyone who follows Georgia politics should know the big urban counties come in late. It is easier to count the south Georgia counties because they don't cast that many votes---some don't even cast a thousand votes in an election. In Ohio, Biden led among the mail vote, which came in first, and then lost it when the election day vote came in.

Trump is his own worst enemy. I suspect he has many personality disorders to include OCD which accounts for his way too many tweets. But at least that helped him to maneuver around the press and go directly to the people.

He made way too many enemies in both parties, to say the least. I will not miss the chaos, drama, name calling and treating the presidency as a reality show. But Trump will go down in history as quite an interesting figure.

What I liked about Trump is that he wasn't a politician but he should have been more of a statesman.

I thing he is an incredibly hard worker and what he did in terms of campaigning after having Covid-19 is absolutely amazing.

But for Joe Biden to have won without all of that and basically staying in his basement and not speaking or tweeting is truly novel, but that's what half of America wants now, less chaos, more peace and less controversy. I can't blame them for that.

I think if Trump had been more statesmen like and tried to work with the other side, he could have won by a landslide. He only has himself to blame for not doing so.

Counties don't vote, so the number of them that went for Trump or Biden is irrelevant.

Rather than being a plus, Trump's non-politician status was harmful to our country and our country's standing in the world community. The damage he has done by failing to recognize and serve that community - "America First" was never a good idea - is what will take time to repair. If Biden is able to do so it will be a good thign for us and for the world.

Biden didn't stay in his basement, no matter what you have heard of FOX News of in Trump's tweets.

Yeah. They were SO willing to work with him.

Every Trump voter on this page is pathetic. All of these post mortems are premature.

The fight isn't over. It is JUST BEGINNING. Trump isn't Romney and he isn't Bush. He isn't about to lay down for this.

A conversation in a bar:

Bill: Just imagine this possibility, okay? It is 2 years from now and President Harris is on her cell phone to Kim Jong Un, shouting “I’m SPEAKING!”; and then after a short pause, Kim Jong Un says firmly “I’m launching our nukes.”

Bob: If Kamala Harris is president in 2 years time, I will welcome the nukes.

BTW - I honestly worked for a bookmaker about 20 years ago, and if bookmakers are taking bets when Joe Biden will be replaced by Ms Harris, and they probably are, I would suggest the following rough odds: 2021 - 2 to 1, 2022 - even money, 2023 - 5 to 1, 2024 - 12 to 1.......and Biden being re-elected in 2024 - 100 to 1.

I am obviously no theologian but I read yesterday that nothing happens without it being God’s will; be it His active (?) will or His permissive will. Is that correct? Too simplistic and needing qualification?

And I am in no way trying to be funny or sarcastic here now, but I honestly wonder if what may happen to Americans, and other peoples, over the next 4 years, or 8 years, if it involves various economic turmoil, bad or severe consequences from foreign policy blunders and or religious persecution and so on, could that be a chastisement from God?

I am reading the Bible from cover to cover for the first time and am up to Jeremiah . I can really recommend chapters 23 to 25. For example:

“The Lord says
‘The prophets and the priests are godless;
I have caught them doing evil in the Temple itself.
The paths they follow will be slippery and dark;
I will make them stumble and fall.
I am going to bring disaster on them;
the time of their punishment is coming........

‘I am a God who is everywhere and not in one place only.
No one can hide where I cannot see him. Do you not know that I am everywhere in heaven and on earth?’......

The Lord Almighty says that disaster is coming on one nation after another,
and a great storm is gathering at the far ends of the earth......
Cry, you leaders, you shepherds of my people, cry out loud!
Mourn and roll in the dust....”

Anonymous at 10.35,

Do you honestly believe Biden is not suffering from any significant mental decline?
Can you honestly see him as president from 2021 to 2029? Aged 78 to 86?
Can you honestly even admit you believe it likely he will remain president for 4 years without being pushed aside and replaced by Harris?

Also, I assume you are Catholic - and do you have any problem with the fact that there is now a quite left of centre, dangerously Woke, element in the Demonocratic Party which hates a lot, if not almost all, of what the Catholic Church has traditionally believed and taught; and hates it with an intensity that in historical terms in the USA is quite recent....

I have anti Catholic leftists in my extended family and have at different times worked with such people for almost 40 years; some have a certain ideological hatred of any Catholic - or any Christian - who is open in declaring, for example, that he or she believes abortion to be wrong and homosexual activity sinful.....this hatred at times can occasionally seem almost demonic. Have you never observed this?

Perhaps a chastisement has already begun? Around the world, for Catholics, the primary effect of the Wuhan virus has been separation. By that I mean separation of the Faithful from their pastors, and the sacraments. In my opinion, this is highly symbolic and clearly a chastisement of God.
Perhaps the Wuhan virus is a warning?
God’s shot across our ecclesiastical bow?

I felt I had no choice but to vote for Biden. Trump has, in my opinion, horribly mishandled the pandemic as well as stoked the fires of civil unrest that have spread over our county - not only from the left, but also the right.

I personally don't agree with Republican stances on economics, immigration, public schools, etc. However, I would vote for them in a heartbeat at every turn if I truly thought they were going to end abortion. In fact, I used to believe the lie that they were the pro-life party and voted for them no matter what (and even lost my public school job and therefore my insurance due to Republican budget cuts from those I voted for). What I found was that while my Catholic Republican friends wanted me to sacrifice everything to vote for their party, they were all unwilling to sacrifice anything themselves. They liked how Republicans focus all their effort on the other issues they agree with and turn a blind eye to how abortion is always on the back burner.

When I lost my job and had multiple people tell me I deserved it - that I "deserved to suffer" because teachers tend to be Democrats and are all a bunch of secular humanists brainwashing children with ideology - it broke the spell. I've voted solid Democrat ever since.

Show me a Republican willing to sacrifice something - anything - for the unborn and I'll vote for him. Until then, shut up about being the pro-life party.

I believe it is important to remember the following -
We have to live in this world but our kingdom is not of this world.
Also, this world is not just the USA.

Look at how China gets away with it’s treatment of it’s Muslim minority. Treatment? Actually, it is better described as the often brutal oppression of its Muslim minority but it has in recent years been in Western Europe and the UK, which has welcomed Muslims, that Muslim extremists have often struck. What has been going on in France has spread to Austria and not just Vienna. Yesterday, in Graz, Austria, an elderly nun in her 70s was seriously assaulted on a bus by a 19 year old Muslim man. And back in France, things are heating up again over posters in Paris of a comedian and actor who Muslims claim is offending Islam by wearing an “Allah ring” !
So in 2021 what can we expect? More large trucks driven down promenades killing 80 plus people and injuring hundreds, another bomb explosion at a children’s music concert, scores of people shot dead leaving a theatre or football game? more Catholic worshippers stabbed to death and incidents like priests being shot as they close their church? More police and off duty soldiers shot or stabbed at random and more “no go” zones? More Jews fleeing Western Europe?

The economic impact of COVID-19 will have severe and adverse social consequences; there will be a lot more stressed and more angry extremists.....I can tell you all here that I have heard from people I used to work with that since COVID-19 hit the phone and online “chatter” among extremists and possible future terrorists has massively increased. It really is a continual case of not if but when the next terrorist attack occurs and imagine the nightmare job, the impossible job really, of stopping repeated “lone wolf” type terrorist atrocities.

Phew.....if any read all that, was it in any way a healthy, sobering distraction from the Trump vs Biden circus?

I formed my conscience according to the instructions of the Catholic Church, watched both debates, read up on the issues and proudly voted for Joe Biden. I am convinced that he will do more to protect human life --- all human life --- than the person currently in the White House. He will also do more to help this country heal.

Sophia here: The no longer amazing thing for me is how many persons are willing to call evil good and good evil, most notably an expansion of killing pre-born, an increase in Assisted suicide vs pro-life accomplishments the shrinkage of Religious Freedom vs the fight for continued Religious Freedom, trade agreements which place the U.S. at a disadvantage vs pro- U.S. deals, the phenomenal economic improvements for all demographics vs handouts, energy independence vs energy dependence, establishing a Covid 19 team composed of a public and private partnership to come up with a multipronged approach to address this scourge not of our own making, "at warped speed" vs primarily and exclusively a "lockdown" strategy which even the WHO has acknowledged is extremely harmful on several measurements-not just socially, financially and medically. Then there is a foreign policy which which has been so successful that it has earned this President 3 independent Nobel Peace Prize nominations! Remember the disastrous "Arab Spring", the diabolical rise and genocidal slaughtering of the one of the most terrifying groups in recent memory, ISIS...

Sophia said...

Sophia here:And speaking of chaos, I guess we have different definitions- President Trump's tweets, his insistence on hitting back verbally when he is viciously, fraudulently attacked doesn't qualify-irritating at worst! The most egregious of these attacks are the "Russian Collusion" -only Hillary Clinton and her allies actually colluded with Russians- and impeachment reactions taken with Ukraine when it was actually the Bidens who were involved in a shady giant money harvesting scheme there! On the other hand, there is actual, terrifying destabilizing chaos out there which follows the typical Marxist playbook! BLM and Antifa are causing mayhem-they are rioting, violently attacking and mortally wounding, killing police, burning down businesses, Churches, toppling statues of great historical figures secular and Religious ones, enabling widespread looting, and attacking and terrorizing people merely because they have "white" skin! This same tactic was used by Stalin in Soviet Union, Chairman Mao in China, Polpot in Cambodia, Chavez and now Maduro in Venezuela. Millions are always wiped out as Marxism is instituted! Stalin killed many more than Hitler ever did and so did Chairman Mao after power is achieved by violent rioting, intimidation, and disarming of the population.
Saying that Biden who we all know, and as he himself said, will be a typical modern Godless Pro-Death Democrat politician re expanding abortion and expanding government control over our lives will do more to heal the country, is the equivalent of saying Stalin, Mao and Polpot did more to heal their countries by slaughtering more and more of them! check into genuine news sources to learn about some of the glaring examples of cheating going on especially in many large urban areas.
I happen to self-identify as a Faithfully practicing Roman Catholic of the Council of Trent/ Biblical Truth, the 143 USCCB attendees at the 2019 meeting, led by Gomez, Chaput and Strickland who voted for the pre-eminence of Abortion when voting, variety- not the 69 " "seamless garment" led by Cupich and McElroy who voted against it variety!
So understandably my assessment of what's going on with this election mess will reflect that.
If the the Mc Carrick report (which is supposed to be finally out next week) is even half honest, I shall not be surprised to see the names of several of the 69 "seamless garmenters" who led many Catholic voters to think that it was morally ok to vote for the radical pro-abortion Democrat Biden/Kamala, will be mentioned!
We are definitely at another Council of Trent moment in the Church- the widespread homosexual activity /sex abuse by priests and even Bishops and Cardinals, at least one gang member priest, at least one Satanist priest filming his desecration Altar of God with 2 Satanist women-while wearing his vestments, no less... No wonder so many Bishops, priests and laity thought it was OK to vote for VP Biden!

Pray for our Church and our Country-their decay seem to be paralleling each other!

On the election: It isn’t over yet. Let the legal process play out (recounts, challenges, etc.) so everyone can have confidence in the result. Trump will, of course, try everything he can to remain President. As I have said before, once he leaves office, the long arm of the law will catch up with him and he desperately wants to avoid that fate. Do not be surprised to see him flee the jurisdiction, i.e., the country (he has already moved his residence from New York State to Florida in an attempt to avoid tax liabilities and, I strongly suspect, criminal charges as well).

On France and terrorist attacks: Nothing can justify these acts. That goes without saying. But what happened to “let sleeping dogs lie”? It defies common sense to poke the dog with a sharp stick when it is known to have a vicious streak. But not only is it imprudent to gratuitously insult someone’s sacred religious tradition, it is discourteous. So, what happened to simple decency as well? Quite frankly, I don’t get it. Is the freedom to mock a religious tradition’s sacred figure really so precious, whether it be Jesus, Moses, Muhammad, or Buddha, especially when the followers of that religion ask you not to? Perhaps it’s a peculiarly French thing.

Sophia, you nailed the good/evil inversion for what it is. And evil people will accuse people of the VERY THING THEY ARE GUILTY OF THEMSELVES.

The utter foolishness and naivete of calling Biden more pro-life than Trump certainly reminds one of the diabolical component that had seduced so many in our electorate.

We all must--I mean we MUST--take the advice of Archbishop Vigano, who is watching this mess from afar and stand up and pray. And as he says, we should not be surprised at the audacious deceit the enemy is willing to resort to, nor those allied to him in the Party of the Culture of Death. God will not be mocked. A political party whose very platform is an indictment of the Catholic Church's moral law and natural law will not bring blessings upon our land, but curses. To embrace and protect and promote abortion, sodomy, same sex "marriage", gender identity tampering, euthanasia, imposing secularized anti-life measures upon religious communities, etc.... All of this cries out to God for vengeance. His mercy is infinite, but His tolerance of evil has its limits. Removing the only obstacle left to the Great Reset and secularized, humanistic globalization will not improve one life.

No. It will trigger the eschatological countdown.

If you believe, if you REALLY believe, then live like it, act like it, vote like it.

As for the rest of you, scoff away.

While the result looks like a win for Biden it is a defeat for congressional Democrats and their Bernie Sanders-influenced, far-left, “progressive “ agenda. The Democrats’ majority in the House of Representatives has been cut and Republicans appear likely to retain control of the Senate. What happened to the predicted “blue wave”?

Even people who like Trump find him exhausting. The mood of the country may well have been quite well captured in these paradoxical results: we want a sleepy old guy who is kindly and snoozing in the White House, and a congress and a judiciary that keeps him paralysed.

However, what was most sinister and disturbing about this election was the enormous financial advantage the Democrats now have, and how big tech, social media and almost all mainstream media went all in for Biden; Social media crossed a dangerous Rubicon when it started censoring Trump and mainstream newspapers and conservatives if they were not backing Biden......another example of what is disturbing and worrying is what occurred in Wisconsin, won by Biden, where the 60 year average turnout is 67%; this year it was reportedly 89% - a 5.5 standard deviation from the historical average. This is something that might be expected in Turkey or Zimbabwe, but not in America.

Mr Biden has said that as President he will suspend the Mexico City policy.
He has stated that he no longer supports the Hyde amendment. On the Hyde Amendment he has changed his opinion from what it once was. His position on these is the same as those who favor abortion.

I take him at his word ,which is why I didn't vote for him.

Gallup Poll -abortion and party affiliation

With respect to the abortion issue, would you consider yourself Pro-choice or

Pro-life:

Result in percentages from years 2012 to 2020

Democrats 34%_ 28%_ 25%_ 25%_24%

Republican 72%_69%_72%_74%_68%

Democrats overwhelmingly favor abortion.

Mr. Biden, from all evidence and indication, would not have nominated someone such as Amy Coney Barret to the Supreme Court. While this does not mean she would vote to overturn Roe vs Wade, it does give hope that she will vote to approve state laws restricting abortion.
On other fundamental issues, Mr. Biden by words and actions differs on Catholic teaching.
I take him on his words and actions, which is why I did not vote for him.
My prayer is that he will become Catholic in what he supports and I pray also for those such as yourself Anonymous.

Anonymous 2,

I disagree with some of what you wrote in that second paragraph above.
Of course, it is wrong and imprudent to deliberately insult other people’s religious beliefs. But is not slaughtering 10 cartoonists, shooting dead a film maker, beheading an old Catholic lady at Mass (and a dozen other examples could be given) all an insane and violent overreaction to feeling one’s religion has been mocked? And why is it almost always the religion of pieces (not peace) that produces crazed extremists willing to slaughter innocent, often not involved, people to make their hurt feelings known. Christians have to put up with films mocking Jesus and or Mary or art exhibitions where, for example, a crucifix can be submerged in a large jar of urine; Buddhists and others can have their sacred statues and sites blown up by Muslims.

And very recently, this year, perhaps the ultimate hypocrisy was displayed by the very PC, Leftist “The Guardian” - a British daily newspaper, which would always condemn the slightest disrespect to Islam - published a cartoon of Priti Patel, a leading Conservative British politician and from a Ugandan- Indian Hindu family -( this conservative Home Secretary is actually a woman, a person of colour and a Hindu) as a fat cow with a ring in her nose, ie a clear reference to her Hindu faith, since cows are considered sacred in Hinduism. A clear personal insult to both a successful, coloured Hindu woman and millions of Hindus in Britain and around the world.....
So all others, Christians, Jews, Buddhists and Hindus have to accept in a free speech society the vilest insults and no one might even get a broken nose or black eye but the slightest insult to Islam can lead to the slaughter of innocent people!

The religion of peace? Or the religion of pieces? ie: Insult Islam in any way and you can find yourself cut, shot or blown up into pieces.
But in the West especially, all other religions can at times be not just mocked but experience the deepest insults and be expected to tolerate it, and do put up with it, especially without an insanely violent overreaction as one world religion has close to a monopoly on.....?

So most likely quite soon Sleepy Joe’s handlers will be installed in the Oval Office. What do we possibly or probably have to look forward to? The managed decline of the American economy as American jobs and industries are outsourced to Joe’s pals in China? A repeal of Trump’s “Muslim ban”? A return to the Paris Climate Accord? A Green New Deal? More “humanitarian aid” to the Palestinian Authority that would mean more money freed up for more rockets to be lobbed into Israel and more money to finance Palestinian jihad? The first and second amendments becoming dead letters after Biden’s handlers pack the Supreme Court? Increased influence of far Left Democrats, those Woke ideologues who despise traditional Christian values and would not even mourn the decline and fall of Western Civilisation with all its white supremacy and patriarchal oppression?
The next 4 years may indeed be “interesting times” !

Anonymous said...

Anon2,

99.5% of the population of the USA and Western Europe could be very respectful towards Muslims, and be super prudent in avoiding in any way provoking Muslim extremists "with a vicious streak" BUT if occasionally one person in the West writes a novel, makes a film or draws a cartoon that many Muslims perceive to be an insult to Islam is it acceptable that Muslim extremists can then respond by murdering innocent people? And terrorizing whole cities and towns?
How long can this continue without a tipping point being reached? And the majority or very many saying: enough is enough?

We know how to reduce the number of abortions: Better education. Access to health care. Pre-natal care. Insurance coverage. Day care and support for single moms. We know this works because the number of abortions dropped during the Clinton and Obama years. By the end of Obama's second term. abortion rates nationwide had basically dropped to pre Roe-v-Wade levels. If you want to prevent abortions, vote Democratic. If you only care about abortion as a political issue, vote Reagan, Bush, Bush, Trump, etc. etc. etc. For Republicans who could care less about you and me, abortion is the gift that keeps on giving.

Those kind of things continue no matter who occupies the White House. Take a look at what our Federal Government spends on social programs and healthcare year after year.

What I and others are against is our tax dollars going to support abortions, whether it is money going to other countries for this(prevented by the Mexico City policy)or domestically(prevented by Hyde amendment).

I am willing to trade off what in the budget you don't want to spend money on equivalent to what is being spent for abortion services.

Has Macron called for respect to be shown to all religious faiths while at the same time condemning the attacks? Perhaps he has. If he hasn’t, he should. It is quite possible to do both. It’s not a binary choice between two mutually exclusive alternatives.

"The fight isn't over."

But it is.

The Supreme Court is not going to "elect" Trump to a second term.

When the Court intervened in Bush-Gore 2000, Bush led in Florida the entire time (and was certified the winner by a mere 537 votes).

And now because Biden is leading in Georgia, there are cries of "voter fraud." As if no one could imagine Biden winning Georgia just two years after Stacey Abrams lost it to Brian Kemp by less than a point and a half. As if no one could imagine that a lot of moderate, suburban women in metro Atlanta would vote for Biden after 4 years of Trump's divisive tone and inflammatory rhetoric.

Sounds like when Democrats lose an election, they blame "voter suppression" and when Republicans lose, it is due to "voter fraud."

And am I to assume that the author (founder) of this blog takes a dim view of metro Atlanta voters, given the zombies picture above?!?
