unknown????
Vatican????
The Galien Mafia headquarters?
I have it on good authority that the majority of the Unknowns are Vatican Curial officers. You file is growing...
"Unknown" ?
Could www/internet/WiFi etc exist in hell?
It would probably be a challenge to have any followers in North Korea!
Bee here:
Turkmenistan? You're not surprised by the numbers out of Turkmenistan?
You know Father McD, there are browser Add-On's that are anonymizers...that make the location of your browser appear as if it is coming from some other location than where you actually are. Maybe that can account for your numbers from unusual or unknown places?
Otherwise, God bless Turkmenistan.
God bless.

Hi Fr. Allan,
My name is Tito Edwards & I am the editor at BigPulpit.com.
I was going to remain silent, but I wanted to start a conversation in the future, so why not now.
The increase in traffic my be the result of me linking to you on my news aggregator website, Big Pulpit (www.bigpulpit.com).
I stumbled across your blog a few weeks ago & I am impressed with your orthodoxy & how you have the pulse of the Church expressed in your blogging.
Have a blessed day!
In Jesus, Mary, & Joseph,
Tito
“Other” is the Vatican CDF where you are currently being investigated!
Big Nose,
More likely you are being investigated as a Dem operative masquerading as a Catholic priest
I would like to think that "other" may be the astronauts at the International Space Station! Then you could say that your blog is out of this world! LOL
Have you talked with the folk at SETI? This might be the breakthrough they have been seeking, and they are desperate.
They know if anyone extra-terrestrial happens to tune in to most media now, they will immediately say, "Beam me up, Scotty. There's no intelligent life here," and this might be the SETI folk only shot at answering before hearing a click and dial tone.
If souls/beings in hell have Internet access could it be possible, assuming they're there, intellectually gifted
Catholic modernists from the excommunicated Alfred Loisy, George Tyrell etc to at least half the periti (sp?) ie at least half the expert advisers at Vatican 2, be leaving provocative, heterodox comments on the many orthodox, traditional Catholic blogs on the www ??!
It would be interesting if Anon at 5:11 could point to any "heterodox" comments on this blog.
Remember, "heterodox" doesn't mean "Things I Don't Agree With."
TJM - “ More likely you are being investigated as a Dem operative masquerading as a Catholic priest”.
It’s not an offence against Canon Law to support the Democratic party although a priest must not publicly align with any political party. Although I’m not a priest (and don’t live in the US) anyway so not really relevant.
Oh my, the truth about Trump’s immorality is really starting to leak out now. Even his own family are dishing the dirt on his greed and inhumanity. Malania is making it known that it’s a sham marriage and she has outwitted the old devil and will likely leave him after the election.
Trump said in one of his rally’s that the USA was going to be so respected internationally like never before. The reality is that world leaders are condemning Trump as racist and/or incompetent. Boris Johnson was asked in parliament last week to list one of Trump’s good qualities - a reference to a statement he made about him having many last year - all poor BJ could manage after a long pause was “he’s the President” because there’s nothing anyone can say to defend his depravity anymore !!!
Anon@7.07,
Some things I don't agree with - and perhaps you could pick out 1 or 2 of the following and help my theological education by explaining to me whether it is orthodox, heterodox or heretical?
What Schillebeekx (d 2009) claimed about the Resurrection, the divinity of Christ and the Catholic priesthood.
What Jungmann (d 1975) claimed about the Mass, the early Church and the priesthood.
What Kung still claims about the papacy, euthanasia and homosexual "civil unions".
What Curran still claims about abortion, IVF, homosexual acts and euthanasia.
Seriously, regarding the above, I believe, it could be explained to an average high school student of average intelligence how much each of the above opposes official Catholic teaching.
The combined influence and impact of the views/beliefs of the 4 theologians named above on millions of lay Catholics and thousands of Catholic priests in our era has been massive.
Since Fr McD started this blog - how many years ago? - is it possible there could have been the occasional heterodox comment left by a Catholic who was influenced by one or more of the theological views referred to above?
To finish, anon@7.07, would it be heresy or heterodoxy to claim the Virgin Birth has only symbolic significance, the Resurrection was not a real historical event; or circumstances can make homosexual acts and euthanasia morally acceptable?
Thousands of comments on this blog over years and none were written by people influenced by the works of very influential modern and Modernist Catholic theologians, as those named above?
How did we get on to Trump here?
Heterodoxy: not conforming with orthodox beliefs; it differs from strictly orthodox views but retains sufficient faithfulness to the original doctrine to avoid heresy.
Would it be a heterodox view or a heterodox general outlook to be so relativistic and to so greatly emphasize that so much is subjective and merely a matter of personal preferences and individual bias?
Also, take something basic; the Resurrection.
Is it just a matter of me expressing my opinion, my preferences and a matter of saying what I like when I believe:
To be vague, ambiguous and or question the Resurrection as a real historical event is at minimum heterodox; and to outright deny the Resurrection as being as much an historical event as Ms Clinton not becoming US President in 2016/2017... or my parents being born in 1935 and 1937...or the Hiroshima atomic bomb drop in 1945 and so on...is heresy?
Finally, is it heterodoxy to make use of pseudonyms and ambiguous words and statements to cloak one's rejection of certain key aspects of orthodox/traditional Catholic faith?
"Thousands of comments on this blog over years and none were written by people influenced by the works of very influential modern and Modernist Catholic theologians, as those named above?"
Which leaves us with no reference to heterodox comments on this blog.
I don't know that there is any such things as a "heterodox general outlook" since no "orthodox general outlook" has ever been defined.
Being "vague" or "ambiguous" is not heterodoxy or heresy. Through the centuries, authors whose works were found "vague" or "ambiguous" were not labelled heterodox or heretics. They were asked by legitimate authorities for clarifications of what they had, usually, written. When that explanation was satisfactory, the matter was closed. What might have seemed "vague" or "ambiguous" was, upon further examination, found to be perfectly acceptable.
[A.] "Finally, is it heterodoxy to make use of pseudonyms and ambiguous words and statements [B] to cloak one's rejection of certain key aspects of orthodox/traditional Catholic faith?
As for A, no, it is not.
As for [B], if one exhibits. "...obstinate denial or obstinate doubt after the reception of baptism of some truth which is to be believed by divine and Catholic faith..." then one might be labelled a heretic and, therefore heterodox.
Anon 8:47 - “ How did we get on to Trump here?”
TJM brought it up again, alongside his paranoid conspiracy theories.
Anon@3.04,
Thank you for your reply.
Because of what you have written above
I have given some thought to heterodoxy and this blog.
For example, when people on this blog have accused Mark Thomas of heterodox papolatry (sp?) are they right?
When on certain occasions over years Gene and others have labelled some of Fr K's theological views heterodox then are they right? Who can ultimately judge if any of Fr K's theological views and beliefs are heterodox?
Who can judge whether it is heterodox or not when during the Mass almost all the emphasis is on the community meal aspect and "the gathering of the people of God" and a service of thanksgiving and so on.. and little to no emphasis on the Mass as a true sacrifice?
I believe many who follow this blog would regard a lot that appears in NCR or on PrayTell as heterodox but a "progressive, liberal" Catholic would often disagree.
Is heterodoxy to a large degree in the eye of the believer?
Does heterodoxy have to become quite clear and blatant and be held by a prominent and influential theologian and to be eventually condemned as heterodox or heretical by the CDF before anyone can be certain what is or isn't heterodox or heretical?
Is it heterodox to claim that in the Catholic Church "heterodoxy is in the eye of the believer" ??
Or is it an aspect of heretical Modernism? For example, to claim what is heterodox in one era will not be heterodox in another era?
Would what was in Vat 2 documents regarding ecumenism, religious liberty and collegiately have been regarded as orthodox or heterodox by any Pope in the 19th century?
By the way, I showed this blog to a Catholic priest, who is a friend of my parents. After about 20 minutes checking this blog out his verdict was: quite a few people who comment here must be SSPX Catholics...that is Catholics who "want to live mentally in the 19th century".
