Headlines such as: "Did Anthony Fauci’s promotion of dangerous research help create the COVID-19 pandemic?" are why LifeSite is an untrustworthy news source.

"Dangerous research" sounds SO ominous, doesn't it, SO threatening. Guess what. ANY research on disease and disease transmission is "dangerous."

The story blames Fauci for many things for which he is not responsible.

It was Trump, not Fauci who said, "It's just one person from Chi-nah!" and "We've got it totally under control" and "It will disappear like a miracle" etc.

The big headline today? "COVID deaths in U.S. now expected to top 200,000."!!! OH MY! Out of a population of about 329,800,000 people, why that's around .0006 of the population, or 6 ONE HUNDRETHS OF ONE PERCENT! WOW!!!!!!! What a threat!

It appears Trump may have had a better idea of real risk to most people than guru Fauci.

Give. Me. A. Break.

Bee,

Anonymous K conveniently forgets that De Blasio said to carry on, use the subway, and Pelosi said everyone cone to Chinatown, and President Trump was a racist and xenophobe for banning flights to and from China.

Being liberal means never having to say you’re sorry!

but but but they aren’t wearing masks or social distancing, but there not screaming or looting. Where’s the spray paint, every good protester needs spray paint ! Ban them immediately ! It looks religious to me and that can’t be good. Shouldn’t that statue me torn down too?

If one of those 6th one hundred of one percent is your closest friend who died an extraordinarily painful death because of this virus, with respect, I don't give a damn who is right or wrong.

Grieving is correct and since no one is wearing a face covering, there probably is some subliminal ideological protest taking place.

"It appears Trump may have had a better idea of real risk to most people than guru Fauci."

Really?

Jan. 22: “We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China.

No, we didn't and no it wasn't.

Jan. 30: “We think we have it very well under control."

No, we didn't.

Feb. 10: “Now, the virus that we’re talking about having to do — you know, a lot of people think that goes away in April with the heat — as the heat comes in."

Well, now it's June and it didn't go away.

Feb. 23: “We have it very much under control in this country.”

No, we didn't.

Feb. 24: “The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA."

No, it wasn't.

Feb. 26: “So we’re at the low level. As they get better, we take them off the list, so that we’re going to be pretty soon at only five people."

Still waiting, four months later, for "only five people."

Feb. 27: “It’s going to disappear. One day — it’s like a miracle — it will disappear.”

Still waiting.

March 6: “Anybody that needs a test gets a test. They’re there. They have the tests. And the tests are beautiful.”

Wasn't true.

March 7: “No, I’m not concerned at all. No, we’ve done a great job with it.”

No, we had not done a great job.

March 24: “I would love to have the country opened up and just raring to go by Easter.”

Bwaaaa Haaaa Haaaa.......!

March 26: "“This was something that nobody has ever thought could happen to this country….Nobody would have ever thought a thing like this could have happened.”

Yes, they did. The Obama Administration left a plan which the Trump administration ignored.

April 13: " “When somebody is the President of the United States, the authority is total, and that’s the way it’s got to be.”

He needs to read the Constitution.

April 23: "“Is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning?”

Yes, by all means, inject disinfectant into your body.

Trump has ZERO better ideas - about anything.

Anonymous K,

President Trump has FAR better ideas - about almost everything - than the opposition. It was the Dem Party, that was busy pursuing an unconstitutional impeachment, according to liberal Democrat and constitutional scholar, Alan Dershowitz, while the pandemic was unfolding and the President was already acting. They even called him a racist for banning flights to and from China. Fauci was a holdover from previous administrations, like the previous one that left the cupboard bare, never restoring the number of ventilators and other supplies. Fauci gave a lot of initial bad advice. FYI, he is a member of the "Party of Science." The Dems biggest "contribution" in all of this was to demand more funding for abortions, as an "essential" healthcare service and that people stick it to the man by flooding the New York Subways and Chinatown in San Francisco. Even now "the Party of Science" views going to Church as inherently dangerous, but protesting, rioting and looting, harmless.

You really come across as a bitter, confused, man, someone who should definitely not be a pastor of souls, at least Catholic ones.

If you are mildly interested in doing something useful, you should go visit some hospitals and nursing homes (presumably safer than showing up at large scale protests to virtuesignal), and work on conversions and getting vocations, things which presumably, you know something about.

You are Mark Thomas without the charm.

Com'on "Grieving," be serious. People die every day...young people, old people, middle-aged people, kids...of all sorts of things. Every day we wake up and get out of bed (or even some who can't get out of bed) we are at risk of dying. Everybody. That being true, we don't live in a plastic bubbles, quaking with fear about what might kill us today. That's just loony. We measure the risk. If the risk is low, we take that chance of stepping off the curb or getting behind the wheel or going where others might be sick with something contagious and our risk of surviving that is over 98%, even if we do get it. And we don't avoid life because our mother died an agonizing death. Geez. Don't be dramatic.

And just in case you think I say this because I have not lost anyone to this illness, there are about 6 or 7 people I knew and was friendly with who have died of this in the nursing home where I normally visit. Six or seven. Some of those deaths hit me harder than others, but one was someone very close and dear to me, who died on May 6th, and I could not go to see her on her deathbed, or hold her hand, or tell her I love her, and I am still very much in mourning over her, and I curse this illness for killing her. But it was God's will too, and so I pray for her and all my friends who have died from it. But I know the most of us are not much at risk, and so, like a normal person, I take reasonable chances, and you should too. God's will be done.

God bless.

And now the "Very Stable Genius" who tells us "It's just one person from China" and "We have it very much under control in this country" decides to announce to the world that we have a vaccine for AIDS.

“These are the people — the best, the smartest, the most brilliant anywhere. And they've come up with the AIDS vaccine. They've come up with — or the AIDS. And they — as you know, there's various things, and now various companies are involved. But the therapeutic for AIDS — AIDS was a death sentence, and now people live a life with a pill. It's an incredible thing,” Trump added.

So, you want to kow-tow to the guy who thinks there a vaccine for AIDS, go ahead.

I am serious. I don't give a damn who's right or wrong, unlike the ones who desperately seem to have the need to be right. Doesn't matter in light of the more serious issue of life and death. Oh...right...people die every day so I guess perhaps I will spend time arguing a point that won't change a thing in the long run.

Sorry Bee....I prefer to grieve deeply and grow through the process..... And come out of it a stronger more compassionate human being.

Bee is far perceptive and smarter than most folks posting here, including fake catholic priests, like K

We can all just take that from whence it comes.....it might be time for the both of you to form your own blog together and leave the rest of us non perceptive people and fake Catholic priests right here.

Then you can spend your time commiseràting about the dummies you left behind....

God Bless!

Oh! And just to add my noñ perceptive 2 cents, the both of you hijacked a thread about Germany and Corpus Christie and turned it into a page of your own political ravings. But I bet you thought we non perceptive people wouldn't notice!

THM 4:24pm - I think you’re suffering from a bad case of projection!

Bee 5:31pm - wow, you really have no empathy whatsoever. We’ll remember your attitude if you succumb to COVID-19 and die a horrific slow agonising death On your own, we’ll just say “oh well” and move on without a thought. By the way, we can’t avoid death but we can avoid a highly contagious transmittable disease - there’s a big difference!

What you don’t mention, and hence deliberately misleading, is that the German photos are NOT of Eucharistic Adoration - consecrated hosts were NOT used. They were part of an online photo exhibition highlighting the need to bring Christ’s presence into the world that we live.
