Re: Cover photo and "Eschatological experience of heaven on earth"
We are then to understand that the décor of heaven is gaudy, garish, and ostentatious, and that it is populated by only males?
Interesting choice to represent heaven, there, Fr. Mac.
That’s what the CCC teaches no matter if the Mass is a private Mass by the priest alone, present with the Bridegroom are all the anima, please note in Latin all souls are feminine, the Church Triumphant’ Militsnt and suffering. You must have had coloring book Catholicism?
Whaaaaa? The Church teaches that heaven is ugly and populated only by men? That's a new one on me and, I suspect, everyone else.
No, all souls are not feminine. The Latin WORD is feminine, but all souls are not.
That would be the equivalent, erroneous of course, of saying, "In Spanish, all houses are feminine" since the word for house is la casa, or that all hands are masculine since, um, wait a minute.
Well, it looks like all hands are transgender in Spanish since the translation is LA MANO, using the feminine article but the masculine noun.
Ain't life just grand?
Then you really don’t understand or worse are embarrassed by the sexual religious anthropology symbolism I’d the feminist of the soul receiving sanctifying grace to give a spiritual rebirth to her by the fertile reception of Hod’s grace. The Church collectively is the Bride of Christ as all souls are endowed with this femininity. You are a coloring book Catholic.
I'm not at all embarrassed by the symbolism.
But I recognize, as you seem to be failing to, that it is symbolism.
I don't fall into the trap, as you seem to, of concretizing symbolic language.
The Church is described as or thought of as the Bride of Christ. But the Church is not a female.
