Pachamama or mama pacha really has nothing to do with the indigenous people of the Amazon river basin and the forests that surround it. It has everything to do with a New Age religion high in the Andes mountains of Peru. From what I read this NEW AGE RELIGION is flourishing in the region, so much that travel agencies have built businesses around it. Not surprising is that this New Age religion incorporates Christian elements, the example given is the Virgin of Candelaria. Interesting is that the ancient traditional sacrifice to Mama Pacha was the sacrifice of children, the New Age Religion has not obstacles to pro abortion policies. Finally all of the press has been centered around the naked pregnant idol. No mention of the little idol with an erection. Everything certainly centered around feminism. I wonder how many people attended churches that had Peruvian altar cloths, or Peruvian stoles? One thing this synod did highlight is what these indigenous people of South America are being taught by the far left North American Prysts and Nyuns. I guess CRS just lost another donation
Did anyone notice how well one of those Pachmama "statues" would fit into one of the DIY plywood nativity scenes? It is as it was custom designed for such an application, unlike the authentic Peruvian carvings
This makes me feel worse, not better. It feels like the Pope is fielding changes to see the reaction then trotting put some explanation based on the response.
