It leaves me scratching my head!
On the topic of child sex abuse and cover-ups in the church, the pope called for the “eradication” of traditions that allowed child sex abuse to take place and for a challenge to how church leaders handled cases with “irresponsibility and lack of transparency.”
He urged young people to call out a priest who seems at risk of seeking affection from children and youth, “and remind him of his commitment to God and his people.”
Asked if that message wasn’t putting young people in potentially dangerous positions with potential predators, another synod organizer, Monsignor Fabio Fabene, said it was the contrary.

A better question is whether or not this is putting innocent priests at risk...
I cannot stand the foolishness of Francis and his sycophants...
It actually reminds me of The Cultural Revolution. We might see ‘revisionist Traditionalists’ called out by children under suspicion of inappropriate affection while teaching traditional approach to sexuality. It would blunt a traditionalist insurgence from filling the vacuum left by the collapse of the homosexual communist masonic lobby.
"...the homosexual communist Masonic lobby."
Are these East or West Coast elite homosexual communist Masons, or just your run of the mill heartland homosexual communist Masons?
Asking for a friend...
Dear scoffing, smug, Arnold Friend,
I strongly suggest you read the Church-approved messages of the apparitions of La Salette.
Red Ryder,
A "Friend" is Anon K.
Dear Red,
Church approval for an apparition is not a confirmation of the veracity of everything associated with that event.
We already have ALL the REVELATION we need. Nothing contained in any subsequent "apparition" is needed. Some may find it helpful, some may not.
And my name isn't Arnold.
Doesn't this put priests with good, pure, pastoral intentions in a dangerous place? Doesn't this put young people in the position of trying to make judgements that, perhaps, they aren't best suited to make?
THIS is leadership?
I wasn’t trolling, really! It’s sort of saying ‘fish’ and have jump in your boat. I didn’t know you could call them like that.
The pope is a Jesuit, and as such is educated enough to state precisely what he means. Why the vague blanket statements that can be left to many interpretations? Exactly which traditions does he think led to the sexual abuse of minors?
BTW A. Friend, all freemasonry is condemned by the Church, so the question doesn't really matter, does it?
Freemasonry in the US is little more than a social club. Yes, there are a handful of Masons who know that there is a "theology" attached to that organization, but they are few and far between.
When was the last time the Masons who live inbuour neighborhood tried to kill a priest or burn down a Catholic church?
The condemnation is outdated.
Dear A. Friend,
We might have all the revelation we need, but God, in HIs mercy, sens us reminders like La Salette, Fatima and the like when we forget our purpose. But thanks for proving my observation of smugness.
Evidently you have never seen the film Smooth Talk.
And TJM: I suspect you're right. Leopards can't hide their spots for very long.
What, according to Revelation, does "our purpose" have to do with Masons, other than loving them?
Well Friend, perhaps CONVERTING them and NOT letting their agenda become the agenda of popes and cardinals and bishops and priests....
But dont want to 'proselytize' - God forbid...
Sometimes the greatest show of of Love is opposition.
A. Friend either doesn't know about the Alta Vendita or else he is part of it.
