IS IT ME OR IS THERE SOMETHING FISHY ABOUT HOW THE MSM DESCRIBES THE SRI LANKAN TERRORISM ATTACKS?

Catholic families wiped out by militant Muslim extremists:

When other houses of worship are attacked, the news accounts make clear that Jews were attacked (here in the USA) or Muslims were attacked in New Zealand or Seiks were attacked in Ohio, all as they worshipped.

The fact that Catholics were attacked in Sri Lanka and by organized Muslim extremists, is downplayed. In the other cases I raise, lone, deranged, radicalized gunman were the culprits. These were not terrorism cells.

Am I the only one who wonders why the Catholic aspect of the Muslim extremists terrorists was not a big angle in this story?

Probably because the "Catholic aspect" isn't a primary element of the story. The Sri Lanka bombers also targeted upscale hotels.

In November 1979 radical Islamists attacked and seized the Grand Mosque in Mecca.

In October 1983 and September 1984 radical Islamists attacked US military and diplomatic targets in Lebanon.

In January 1985 it was an attack on a Buddhist temple in Java.

In July 1989 the attacks were on Jews at Kiryat Yearim in Israel.

And so on to the present day. The attacks are not targeting, specifically, Catholics, or even Christians. They are worldwide and, in terms of targets, indiscriminant.

Oh, I see. But there is something fishy in the koolaide you drink.

When Islamic terrorists blown up Catholic churches, it is all but given that the news media will report that "Christian churches" have been attacked.

The news media often hesitate to report that "Catholic churches" have been attacked.

However, if Catholic clergymen are accused of wrongdoing, then it's a given that the headlines and lead paragraphs will identify the clergymen as Catholics.

Never will the headline read: "Christian clergyman accused of..."

But again, when a Catholic church is attacked, the headline will likely read: "Christian church attacked."

Pax.

Facts aren't koolaid.

Yes there have been attacks on Catholic targets. But there are many more attacks on other, non-religious targets AND on Muslim targets.

Not drinking the Koolaide.
Are we a target? Dear God in Heaven, of course we are. As are all Christians, and all who fight terrorism physically and spiritually. The terrorists hate us, and MSM enables them.

Father McDonald,

That’’s because the media and the left (but I repeat myself) hate Christians, particularly Catholics, but get weepy if members of Islam, the folks that saw off heads, mutilate girls genitalia, and toss gays off of buildings are killed. These folks are either braindead or are hard core lefties

One of the churches attacked in Ceylon was Protestant. I don't think Islamic terrorists are concerned overmuch with the denominational differences among Christians.

The BBC did describe one of the targeted neighbourhoods as 'predominantly Catholic'. And the term 'Easter Sunday Mass' is a clear identifier.

Christians in Asia are persecuted not just by Moslems but also by Buddhists and Hindus. And all religions are persecuted in Communist China, something that PF and his Secretary of State Parolin should bear in mind.

Have they learned nothing from Paul VI's and Casaroli's disastrous and demeaning 'Ostpolitik' of the 1970s?

Here are some "great thoughts" from some of the leading lights of the Democratic Party. Jack Kennedy would be appalled:

"After Congresswomen Ilham Omar’s and Rashida Tlaib’s incendiary anti-Semitic rants directed at Jewish Americans and American ally Israel, the Democrat House “progressive caucus,” led by Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, rallied around to protect and support them. The progressive media chimed in, supporting the Islamist congresswomen. Even after Rep. Omar dismissed the 9/11 attacks as “someone did something,” Democrat progressives defended her, accusing the president of religious bigotry when he objected.

Not to be outdone, the ever more progressive and pro-Islamist New York Times [aka Hell's Bible] published a political cartoon that even they admit is anti-Semitic, as well as an article claiming that Jesus was a Palestinian, which was applauded by Ilhan Omar! The anti-Semitic congresswomen and media were right in tune with the powerful “Women’s March” leaders, who allied with notorious anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan, head of the Nation of Islam, calling him “The greatest of all times.”

With all this religious violence, I kind of wonder what God was thinking now that I have learned that the variety of religions are according to His will.

I suspect that now that the Catholic Church claims this, all religious violence will cease at any moment.

Yay for Francis!

This is for the "intellectuals" who post here:

WASHINGTON — The Israeli ambassador to the United States linked The New York Times to the “Jew-hatred of growing parts of the intellectual class.”

You know, Francis shows all of us that we were way wrong about who God is. The God of Francis, that is the God of surprises, is very different from the God who wanted His people as a nation set apart. You know, maybe with borders. And who seemed against the Israelites mixing with the other nations.

And don't even get me started about how Francis has shown that Jesus was all wrong when He prayed to His Father "that all may be one."

Silly Jesus did not know that His Father willed all the variety of peoples and Faith's. That is God wants there to be no borders and no separate nations, but lots and lots of religions.

Obviously Francis speaks with the mouth of Jesus since no clergy seems to be speaking out against him with any sort of passion.

So follow, follow, follow Francis.

Dan,

You will just love this recent action of PF:

Bishop Angelleli, of La Rioja, Argentina, was so radical, political and left-wing that many of his flock called him in life "Satanelli". He died in a car accident in 1976. Yet Francis has decided to beatify Satanelli as a "martyr"!

TJM, and of course after a reasonable time, we can expect a Saint Fidel Castro. I figure six more months is reasonable to this Vatican.
