To be in his 90's, His Holiness still looks good! What would it be like to have a pontiff, like this, who could live to 100 or more? Was it providential for His Holiness to abdicate? Couldn't there have been divised through papal decree a sort of "vice pope" who would be a caretaker for an incapacitated pope until he dies, with only administrative authority but not authority to concoct anything new? Or is that already in place, without the forethought about concocting something new?
