THE CHURCH OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY IN AUGUSTA HAS PRODUCED MORE PRIESTS FOR OUR DIOCESE THAN ANY OTHER PARISH IN OUR DIOCESE BAR NONE!

This is a blast from the past. The photo below was taken in Vienna, Austria around 1999. I was pastor of the Church of the Most Holy Trinity in Augusta. Our parish has a sister-parish relationship with the Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Tbilisi the Repbulic of Georgia. I had traveled there with parishioner Mark Van Alstine and when we returned, we had a layover for a full day and night in Veinna.

We hooked up with two other Most Holy Trinity parishioners attending Franciscan University and were doing a semester in Europe. They are Daniel Firmin and Aaron Pidell. Today all three are priests. Fr. Firmin is the Vicar General of our Diocese of Savannah, Fr. Mark Van Alstine is pastor of my childhood parish of St. Joseph in Augusta and Fr. Aaron Pidel is a Jesuit priest but we won't hold that against him! He's a great Jesuit!

Clockwise are Fathers Firmin, Van Alstine, Pidell and Me but in photo Me is the only priest!

Father,

How many others do you count during your tenure at MHT? That's impressive having three future priests (and none of them in seminary yet) in one photo on an international trip.

In my time, between 1991 and 2004 there have been nine ordained but others before and after those dates. Yes, that is impressive. Some of it, but not all, has to do with a large intentional community in Augusta, the Alleluia Community.
