Father, if you are suggesting Francis wear a coronvirus soundproof muzzle on flights, or even cease and desist on trying to be a JPII-style virile jet-set rockstar in setting new air-miles records, and he instead stay home and actually govern the Church, I am all for it...
However, I fear even his funeral will be held on an aircraft, and he'll still be talking to handpicked reporters, while virile has always eluded him.
As for Francis diarrhea of the oral sphincter causing problems, although no expert at Italiano, would not a better translation of his comment have been "there is too much faggotry (homosexual behavior)" at seminaries?...which begs the question of when does some become too much in his estimation?
If he were trying to draw a hard line in the sand, he did it with a very blurry stick...
And the comment was met with guffaw laughter by the assembled bishops, a fitting reply to the punch line of the joke, all of which not a very forceful and unequivocating hard line stance on anything, but rather only an occasion for ribald commentary. Yes, he has stated his support for squelching gay admissions to seminaries, and yes, he just stated it still is yet ongoing, but, where is the forceful action to counteract?
After this PR swan dive, is anyone thinking he will now take even more concrete steps?
