As a rebellious teenager in the late 1960’s and when I could drive myself to Mass, I wore jeans to Mass and when I got home my dad complained that I wore jeans to Mass. Of course my sarcastic reply was to say to him that he should be glad that I went to Mass on my own! To have a soon to be proclaimed saint, Blessed Carlos Acutis, wearing jeans in a statue of him in church, well, I am overjoyed and vindicated after all these years! BTW, I wonder if Nike payed for the statue as I think he’s wearing their shoes???? How funny is that! A saint sponsored by NIKE!

Did the statuary company also detail branding of jeans, shirt, pack and electronic gizmos, and why or why not, and did the boy ONLY wear Nike and for how long? I think brand-naming on a saint statue about as tacky as it gets, not to mention the statue a terrible likeness, but what a great job on brand name shoes.
I'm a bit of a "come as you are" pew sitter.
I don't concern myself with the attire of others. I hope they aren't concerned with mine.
We all should be facing forward (mostly) and not focused on temporal matters ("Now set aside all earthly cares").
My point? It's a departure from religious imagery with which I am familiar - pastel robed glory.
My stodginess aside, I hope the Saint becomes relatable/accessible/approachable to both the young and young at heart.
