God forbid! Ostentatious horse-drawn hearses are associated with gangsters and members of what is euphemistically referred to as the 'traveller community' but whom most of us call 'gyppos' or 'pikeys'.

John, interestingly enough North Augusta which is across the river in South Carolina is home to a very large community of Irish Travelers who have lived here since the late 1800,s. They are all Catholics and have their own parish. They intermarry and it shows. They are called Gypsies here but technically are not though we also have true Romanian Gypsies here too. The travelers have a reputation for shoplifting and dwindling people unfortunately. They are much maligned. But they are now wealthy with big homes in there once exclusively trailer camp!

Father McDonald,

This hearse reminds me of one used in the movie, Imitation of Life, starring Lana Turner.

Why not? Then you can wave at everyone while you go by.
