Ah...nothing like congregationalism---"lets put it to a vote of the parish". Or, should I say, "congregation"? (After all, "parish" sounds too Catholic or Anglican...right?!?)

I'm surprised it ever went up. Some Baptist Churches don't even have a cross because they fear it's a graven image. Or stained glass for that matter.

AT the place where I work, it leaked out that I don't eat meat on Fridays. When pressed about it, I said it was because I am Catholic and we can choose a penance for Fridays and that is the penance I choose.
Her reply was, "Where's they-at in the Bahble?"

I just smiled and patiently explained it was not in the Bible.

Just another day in the Southern Protestant Empire.

That Jesus looks pretty protestant to me, anyway. I expect the Methodists would love to have it.

It looks Protestant to me too although the face as the Shroud of Turin features.

This would be a big hit in one of those round tabernacle-in-the-broom-closet parishes.Put it right behind the "table" in their worship space. They are basically protestant anyhow.

Baptist church removes Bibles from place of worship for being “too Catholic”.

One can well understand their apprehension—the Bible is entirely Catholic. Without the Catholic Church, the Bible wouldn’t even exist. Why would these Baptists rely upon suspect Catholic writings for their beliefs? Don't they know that "sola scriptura" is a devious Catholic plot to undermine them, to infect them with Catholic ideas?
