LIBERALISM DESTROYS RELIGIOUS PRACTICE!

This is from the most recent Gallop Poll on religious practice in the USA:

There was a big discrepancy over that 20-year period in regard to political affiliation: Church membership among Democrats fell from 71 percent to 48 percent, compared to a more modest drop from 77 percent to 69 percent among Republicans.
My comment: Being a liberal or progressive is destructive of religious practice and liberal religion is doomed to self destruction as has been seen in the Catholic Church in the 1970’s and the return to the 1970’s in the 2010’s under Pope Francis.

This is not news.

Yes, but, yes but, most of the remnant of religious liners in the Church or in politics or both are in complete denial about this, probably weed induced.

Liberals not liners darn that auto correct!

"Liberal" includes Catholic Bishops sending homosexuals to seminary also.

I have seen this in my own family. Sadly, my nieces and nephews are the victims. When I look back on my life I honestly don't know how I/we would have been able to get through some very tough times without our faith and faith community. "The State" cannot replace this. When everything seems to fall around you, without faith as sometimes your only "fall back position", where does a person go??????

And the liberals must include a lot of priests and bishops, who have, de facto, abandoned the Catholic Faith

Liberals (or additional folks who leave the Church) would remain within the Church if they would listen simply to Pope Francis. He who hears Pope Francis hears Jesus Christ.

Via his recent essay, Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI testified to and thanked His Holiness Pope Francis for having shown us "again and again, the light of God, which has not disappeared, even today. Thank you, Holy Father!"

Yes...thank you, Pope Francis, for having defended and promoted the True Religion...for having shown to the world the light of God.

Our holy and great Roman Pontiff, Pope Francis, has "again and again" led us into God's light.

Anybody who submits to Pope Francis's God-given authority to teach, govern, and sanctify the Holy People of God will remain within the Church.

Deo gratias for Pope Francis. He is God's holy and great gift to us.

Pax.

Liberals ultimately "progress" themselves out of most things. Current trends and the evolution of societal norms etc. invariably leads them there.

The liberals behavior reminds me of the behavior of lemmings...

MT,

"He who hears Pope Francis hears Jesus Christ." This is nonsense and borderline heretical. It depend what the Pope says and it what context.

Hey, you never told us what PF did to discipline the gay Vatican clerics involved in a cocaine fueled sex orgy? I am not the only one who has asked you about this?

He Isn't Worth Your Time,

Yes, you are correct.

"He who hears Pope Francis hears Jesus Christ."

I did not know Jesus repeatedly put down individuals who were sincerely trying to follow Him, or that he ever spoke of "coprophagia."

I learn something new everytime Mark Thomas posts here.

Jesus offered many tough sayings. Pope Francis has followed Jesus' lead in having called out Doctors of the Law...rigid folks. Good for Pope Francis.

So Jesus called out "Doctors of the Law?" I would take that to mean the 'professionals."

Francis, on the other hand, constantly belittles every day Catholics. SHAME on Francis.

Dan,

You nailed it. He is a nasty little piece of work. I would never confuse his actions with our Lord's.

Mark Thomas said...

Dan, do you believe the Church's teaching that he who hears His Holiness Pope Francis hears Jesus Christ?

Thank you.

I wish you and your family a Blessed Easter.

I reject that. Your above comment doesn't correspond to my knowledge of His Holiness Pope Francis.

Anyway...the overwhelming amount of Catholics love and respect His Holiness. They do not relay any indication that they feel insulted by him.

People who met him in person praise him as a holy, humble, kind child of God. People who have known him for years have testified to that.

In Francis case, I have come to the conclusion that I MUST reject that teaching. Something is terribly wrong.

Dan,

What would you expect from a poster that NEVER responds to any of PF's shortcomings? He still owes us an explanation as to what PF did to discipline those Vatican clerics who engaged in a cocaine fueled sex orgy at the Vatican. Face it, MT is a troll, and as Father Z states: do not feed the trolls
