Thanks for posting this Father McD. Much needed reminder to keep the Faith in spite of persecution.
God bless.

"What does a black man know about the church, especially a black man from from uncivilised Africa?". You can be sure a lot of catholics in the "advanced" countries as well as the Vatican are asking this very question. Very sad that the Grand Schism is getting closer and closer.
Despite the coarseness of the Church era we're living through, it's still shocking to think of such a towering moral giant "slapped down" by such a little moral pygmy.
"What if instead of being put back in his place, slapped down and locked up for violating Western speech codes, Sarah becomes pope? This is what his critics fear most. Mickens writes of the dark possibility of a “Pius XIII (also known as Robert Sarah)”."
In terms of holiness, a Pope Pius XIII would be fine and dandy. But why is it assumed that a Pope Pius XIII would be a right-wing, "traditional" Pope?
Pope Venerable Pius XIII "liberalized" the Church in earnest. That is, if "liberal" is defined as opening the Church to the world, calling for a new world order, condemning free-market capitalism, foisting novelties upon the Church/liturgy...
...Pope Venerable Pius XII tapped Monsignor Bugnini to help radical liturgical reforms (novelties) that, in turn, Pope Venerable Pius XII authorized...
...authorized Catholic participation in the Ecumenical Movement, overturned the traditional Eucharistic Fast...on and on.
Pope Venerable Pius XII appointed one "liberal" bishop after another.
Such was the real Pope Venerable Pius XII.

By the way, Cardinal Sarah has made it clear that he's very much a man of Vatican II.
In regard to liturgy, while he has, for example, called for ad orientem worship, Cardinal Sarah has also made it clear that he's on board with Vatican II's call for liturgical reform.
Unlike so-called "traditional" Catholics, Cardinal Sarah has made it clear that the Church is not frozen in the 1950s or 1962 A.D.

Cardinal Sarah is elected Pope...Pope Pius XIII.
Pope Pius XIII/Cardinal Sarah serves as a "traditional" (whatever that means) Pope.
Does that mean that suddenly, the "crisis" within the Church will disappear? Does that mean that suddenly, "liberals" (whatever that means) throughout the Church will embrace "traditional Catholicism" (whatever that means)?
Note to "traditionalists":
Traditionalists have insisted that Pope Francis is a modernist. They have determined that Pope Francis, whom they hate, is...
...an anti-Pope, a heretic...
...or Pope Francis is Pope. However, traditionalists who belong to that group have concocted the scheme that permits them to "recognize, but resist" Pope Francis' God-given authority to teach, rule, and sanctify the Holy People of God.
That is, we have "traditionalists" who recognize that Pope Francis is Pope, but have determined that they have the "right" to resist him.
Traditionalists have granted unto themselves the "right" to shake their collective fist at "Evil Clown" Pope Francis. They, not the Church of Rome, determines, for example, as to whether Amoris Laetitia is orthodox.
"Recognize but Resist" Traditionalists have placed themselves above Pope Francis' God-given authority to teach, rule, and sanctify Holy Mother Church.
Traditionalists have concocted feel-good reasons and games to justify their scheme — their scheme is an old one..."Non serviam."
Note to Traditionalists: Should we find ourselves with a Pope Pius XIII type, Cardinal Sarah or otherwise, then guess what?
Liberals will take a page from the traditionalist Catholic playbook. Liberals will concoct their "recognize but resist" scheme. Liberals will develop "Evil Clown Pope Pius XIII" blogs designed to foment division and hatred 24/7 against Pope Pius XIII.
Liberals will twist everything that Pope Pius XIII says and does to concoct the false narrative that the "crackdown" Pope (pope Pius XIII) is arrogant, nasty, and hateful.
Liberals will find ways to attempt to justify their hatred of and refusal to submit to Pope Pius XIII.
Liberals will play the vile, destructive, demoralizing anti-Catholic game with Pope Pius XIII that "traditionalists" play with His Holiness Pope Francis.
Pax.

I have to admit it would be creepy if everyone agreed to like the pope.
I am sort of offended when someone claims traditionalists have some extreme opinion about the pope. Even progressives with "who am I to judge?" tattoos on their eucharistic puppets have inaccurate opinions of him.
I do not think Cardinal Sarah thinks he is The Chosen One or fulfillment of a prophecy unless he plans to kill Darth Vader with a light sabre. Pope Francis is not anti-pope. He wants people to feel welcome in the Church in hopes they will convert. So he is a kind man. But he does not anticipate that people will interpret him as setting aside the commandments of God. He seems to harbor the soft bigotry of low expectations for people suffering from popular sin. I suspect he understands that he can punish harshly more traditional groups because they will complain but remain whereas the genetalia obsessed crowd will burst into tears and head for the nearest yoga studio. If I were a cynical Brit I might claim it is the economics of the problem that guides so many bishops. As an American I think it's just the money.
