YIKES! THE PREFECT-ELECT OF THE DCF SEEMS TO HAVE THIN SKIN AND INSECURITIES AND ON OUR NATION’S INDEPENDENCE DAY, HE LASHES OUT AT SOME AMERICAN CATHOLICS—

He might have a point about his kissing book, but he seems so very insecure about it and defensive too! He knows he’s out of his league in his new digs, perhaps the reason for his defensiveness. I say, if you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen.
I think we’re in for it from His Excellency:

Press title: Pope’s new doctrine czar fires back at US critics on kissing book

Well he certainly isn’t proselytizing anyone. So he has that going for him.

I did not perceive from his comments that Archbishop Fernández is thin-skinned, defensive, and insecure.

My view is that he is a humble man who will not advance his career, as well as ego, at Holy Mother Church.

As Crux had noted:

"Argentinian Archbishop Víctor Manuel Fernández, Pope Francis’s pick as the new head of the Vatican’s powerful Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, has said that he originally declined the position in part because he feels incompetent in handling the clerical abuse crisis."

Crux also noted:

"He insisted that he was not attempting to defend himself with the Facebook post, but rather, wanted to make some clarifications “to prevent any of you from feeling confused or suffering from these and other accusations, but above all I do it so that they do not try to harm Francis.”

Pope Francis has been the primary target in regard to those who have raged against Archbishop's appointment to the DDF.

In regard to those who have misrepresented the Archbishop's book in question:

Were he thin-skinned and insecure, Archbishop Fernández would be in the midst of a long-running war of words with the folks in question.

Correction:

My view is that he is a humble man who will not advance his career, as well as ego, at Holy Mother Church's expense.

Thank you.

That is a beautiful example of the Archbishop's humility.

Archbishop Fernández could have said "yes" immediately to Pope Francis' offer in question.

If he were not a humble servant of God, Archbishop Fernández could have advanced his career, fed his ego, and secured within the Church a prominent position.

But his humility, as well as desire to serve the Church in holy, competent fashion, had led Archbishop Fernández to say "no" initially to the title of Prefect of the DDF.

He is likely a Peronist like his boss. Mark Thomas still has not apologized to Father McDonald for lying about Father McDonalds's statements, nor explained why his Golden Calf has not disciplined the Vatican clerics involved in a cocaine fueled gay sex orgy. Accordingly, MT has ZERO credibility and should be ignored. Typical leftist.

Tucho Fernandez caused controversy two decades ago when he openly criticized Veritatis Splendor. He also authored parts of PF's Amoris Laetitia.

I wondered how MT would spin this. As for humility, I am minded of Mark Antony on Julius Caesar:

'You all did see that on the Lupercal
I thrice presented him a kingly crown,
Which he did thrice refuse. Was this ambition?'

John Nolan,

Bravo!

John I wrote that it appeared that Fernandez may well have ghost-written the introductory letter of Pope Francis concerning the appointment. There is no humility is admitting he is not up to dealing with the sexual abuse crisis. In fact he did a miserable job at it as the Archbishop of his diocese and he knew that he would be crucified for it if appointed to the DCF and sure enough Crux revealed that it has just begun. His ghost-written letter is “gaslighting” to prevent people from criticizing Fernandez and the pope over his ineptness at dealing with something that is so crucial for the credibility of the Church today. His appointment on many levels is all about pride, not humility and changing moral teachings and dogmas to accommodate the world, after all, God forbid that we take on the world like Jesus did!

The pre=Vatican Church did take on the world and was respected for it, albeit begrudgingly. The current Church is a clown show, and not a very funny one at that.
