THE ANCIENT LATIN MASS INSPIRING THE YOUNG AND OLD!

I baptized the baby I am holding about 19 years ago at the Church of the Most Holy Trinity in  Augusta when I was the pastor there. The same baby, now19 years old altar server served Savannah’s Latin Mass with me this Sunday as he was visiting Savannah from Augusta. He is next to me holding the paten at Communion time.  He hasn’t changed, nor I.

By the way, he is the second oldest of 11 children, the youngest just three months old!

Sophia here: This is a great human interest story Father-notably that this young man is from a large orthodox (vs heterodox) Catholic family, that he continues to practice His faith at this committed a level, and that he just happened to be visiting on a Sunday when you were celebrating the TLM! Thanks for allowing us to enter into your joy by sharing it.

Soohia is right! The backstory is very intriguing.

Father McDonald,

There is a good article over at Rorate about the Mexican Bishops submitted "adaptations" to Rome which exposes the big lie behind Traditiones Crudelis (Custodes). Here is the money quote:

"It is of course glaringly ironic that the Vatican would, in certain regions, allow ritual dance to be introduced into the liturgy that it deems the "unique expression" of the Roman Rite, while at the same time attempting to totally eliminate the Traditional Latin Mass. This fact obliterates the notion that Rome seeks a single expression of the Roman Rite. Instead, it seeks to make the Roman Rite incoherent, stripping it of its sacrificial elements and Christo-centric elements and making it redolent of the surrounding culture."

Yes, this kind of inculturation is a scam and insult to the Roman Liturgy. Even progressive liturgists question this kind of nonsense and it is nonsense.

But the Roche will likely approve it without batting an eye. The intellectual dishonesty in Rome is stunning.
