Well, it still happens. Those neo-Catholics who like the pope, are telling those who don’t like how things are going to leave the Church.
Maybe we need to stop excommunicating each other in the non-condemning Church of Now. Except that is, if you supported the previous papal magisteriums of the Church. You can leave.
What a mess…
When I was stationed at our Cathedral in the late 80’s and early 90’s, a priest from Brazil who was the port chaplain lived in the rectory and would be scheduled for various Cathedral Masses. He had a thick accented English.
When it came to the Ite Missa est in English, this is what he sounded like in English:
“This Mess is ended, go in peace.”
May it come to pass…

Awesome post.
It does look like a reversal of history where the revolutionaries of Vatican II, in a Bolshevik strategy, decided to stay rather than leave.
The Roman Church is enduring, and will hopefully survive, it's own Cultural Revolution. The only thing missing are little red books of PF's quotations. It could be titled, "Make a Mess".
LOL - well that priest was right about the typical Novus Ordo - what a Mess!
Truth in advertising, more truthful than not.
