Pope Francis showing forth in the most visible way his humility, refused the lavish accommodations that popes have enjoyed for centuries at Castel Gandolfo.
He never went there.
Tourism, a mainstay of the livelihoods of the residents of that wonderful place suffered greatly. Many businesses that catered to the tourism associated with papal stays there suffered and closed.
Thanks be to God that Pope Leo has reversed so many humble traits of Pope Francis the outlier of popes, and receives in the most humble way the perks of the papacy unabashedly.
Castel Gandolfo residents rejoice at the recovered visibility of their town returned to them by Pope Leo!
This is the Mass and Procession on the lake of Castel Gandolfo that Pope Leo celebrated today. If every Bugnini Mass were celebrated in this fashion, I don’t think we’d have all the liturgical polarization we have had, but not many celebrate the Bugnini Mass with this kind of care and reverence. Thus…

While at Castel Gandolfo, his is something Pope Leo needs to work on!
CONQUERED: Pope Leo’s Vatican put a Muslim prayer rug inside the Apostolic Library and called it hospitality.
Mother Miriam put it in the open: “The Pope has given Muslims a prayer room in the Vatican library. Why would you allow SATAN in the Vatican library?! That’s INSANE!”
I will say these Italian nuns are feisty!
Isn’t Mother Miriam an American Jewish convert to Catholicism?
"Mother Miriam, born Rosalind Moss in Brooklyn, New York, grew up in a conservative Jewish household but became agnostic in her teenage years. Her spiritual journey led her to evangelical Christianity, where she studied ministry and served as a chaplain and director of women’s ministries. In 1995, after 18 years in Evangelical Protestantism, she converted to Catholicism, embracing the Church as the institution Christ established 2,000 years ago."
Her comments regarding Muslim scholars praying in the Vatican library are shameful and contrary to the Church's doctrine and practice.
Please highlight the doctrine that Muslims must pray in the Vatican Library. I am not aware of any doctrine of that nature.
That a priest who is supposedly well educated in Catholic doctrine would ask to be shown the doctrine that says Muslims must pray in the Vatican library is a sad, sad commentary on that priest's lack of proper formation. Or downright intellectual incapacity, take your pick.
We can always tell when we catch you with your doctrine pants down.
And his commonsense pants down!
Fr. ALLAN McDonald - Do you have some sort of a fascination with men with their pants down....?
Oh my God!!!! Did you see the MUSLIMS on Wheel of Fortune tonight??? Two of the women were wearing head scarves!!! Did you see them win $80,000.00? Where is the doctrine that says Muslims can be on Wheel of Fortune??? Someone alert Mother Miriam, you know, that feisty "Italian" nun. Bwaaaa Haaaa.....
So, you still can’t find that doctrine that says a Muslim prayer rug is to be placed in the Vatican library for Muslims to pray. Is there a doctrine that says Muslims must be on the Wheel of Fortune and win money? Inquiring minds want to know. To help you out, you may not know about AI helping you to find that doctrine, or if none, telling you there ain’t. Try it.
AI is for those who can't think. I'm sure you love it.
The "doctrine" (note the quotation marks) is based on Sacred Scripture. You might open your Bible and look at Matt 25:35 - "I...was a stranger and you welcomed me." Or you might find Lev 19:33-34 "Do not mistreat foreigners who are living in your land. Treat them as you would an Israelite, and love them as you love yourselves. Remember that you were once foreigners in the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God." You might stumble across Hebrews 13:2 "Remember to welcome strangers in your homes. There were some who did that and welcomed angels without knowing it."
That "Italian" Mother Miriam needs a refresher course on Biblically based hospitality as well.
So, you continue to say that providing prayer rugs for Muslims at the Vatican Library is a doctrine. Is it also a doctrine that the Vatican should provide an SSPX altar and tabernacle in the same place? And do you provide the Latin Mass for those who would like it in your parish, either FSSPX or FSSP or just the modern Latin Mass? Inquiring minds want to know to what extent you follow the Catholic Doctrine of providing Muslim Prayer Rugs and other things others need to pray on your property???
Father McDonald,
With every statement, K exposes his ignorance. He comes here to be annoying and everyone (other than one) knows it. If he had a blog, he'd have himself and that other poster here
Can’t imagine that he’s that immature…
Well, his contumaciously stubborn comments here on this threat, suggests he is
ALLAN, why you think there is anything doctrinal in this matter is beyond me.
TJM - You're the ignorant one, calling a Brooklyn-born Jew who later converted to agnostic who later converted to Evangelical who later converted to Catholic a "feisty Italian nun."
Her comments about the Muslim prayer rug in the Vatican library are insulting to Catholicism and to Islam and should be embarrassing to herself.
Like other traditionalists, they cannot abide any kind of ordinary kindness, hospitality, respect, etc., that may be shown to members of other religions, Christian and non-Christian. They assume the Church should act and speak as they act and speak.
