DID WHOEVER HELP DRAFT THE FINAL ELOCUTION OF POPE LEO’S DISCOURSE ON SACROSANCTUM CONCIILIUM DO HIM A GRAVE AND EMBARRASSING DISSERVICE? THE SHORT ANSWER IS A RESOUNDING YES!

My post below this one was my simple way of saying what Dom Alcuin Reid eloquently writes. That he wrote this so quickly will capture Pope Leo’s attention. It’s time to clean house at the Dicastery of Divine Worship.

It is embarrassing to say the least!

Press the title for his commentary by way of Diane Montagna’s Substack:

If we think we have a deep state here in the USA, the Vatican invented the idea.

I don't think some random blog post is likely to get the Pope's attention. The more likely scenario is that the Pope actually thinks this, IMO. Better to take him at his qord at this point.

I believe you are right

The most charitable view of this embarrassing event is that Roche/Grillo have succeeded in using the Holy Father as their megaphone.

As someone who gave almost 50 years to music ministry in the Church, I can say, with experience, the "reforms" or deforms as I call them, have been a monumental flop. If these clowns worked in the real world they would have all been fired for gross incompetence!

As in all things, Father, it is perhaps, time to await the omni-opined word salad from your very own key-board warrior - MT

The insult consists of having portrayed Pope Leo XIV as a ventriloquist's dummy who permitted "drafters" to place words in our Holy Father's mouth.

Dom Alcuin Reid is shocked!...shocked! that somebody "in the Dicastery of Divine Worship most probably put these words in the mouth of the Holy Father..."

The words in question:

"the liturgical reform promoted by the Second Vatican Council is thus firmly rooted in the living tradition of the Church."

=======

1. Yesterday was not the first time that Pope Leo XIV had made clear that which he had taught in regard to the liturgical reform.

2. Pope Leo XIV reiterated simply that which his holy predecessors had taught in regard to the liturgical reform of the Roman Rite.

Example: Pope Saint John Paul II:

"Pope Paul VI instituted a 'Consilium'...and they carried out the task entrusted to them with generosity, competence and promptness."

"The reform of the rites and the liturgical books was undertaken immediately after the promulgation of the Constitution and was brought to an effective conclusion in a few years thanks to the considerable and self less work of a large number of experts and bishops from all parts of the world."

"This work was undertaken in accordance with the conciliar principles of fidelity to tradition and openness to legitimate development, and so it is possible to say that the reform of the Liturgy is strictly traditional and in accordance with the ancient usage of the holy Fathers".

Pax.

Dom Alcuin Reid's prose is the antithesis to synodal word-salad speak.
