For the life of me, I do not know how the Novus Ordo lost the reverence and dignity of the Mass that it changed. I don’t think the intention was to turn any Mass, in particular an ordination Mass, into a kind entertainment with hooping and hollering.
But this is what has happened. Pope Francis tried hard to suppress to the older Mass that Pope Benedict heroically liberated.
But nonsense at Novus Ordo Masses like this one, a priestly ordination, go unchecked and is encouraged. Look at the priests applauding over and over again, and the people hooping and hollering.
Is this dignity, devotion and awe and wonder?
