THE HETERODOX LEFT MAY FIND THIS MORE GUT WRENCHING THAN THE HETERODOX RIGHT’S REACTION TO POPE LEO MEETING WITH JESUITICAL FATHER JAMES MARTIN, SJ…

The National catholic Reporter prints the AP story about the Vatican allowing Cardinal Burke to celebrate a Solemn Sung High Mass at the Altar of the Chair in Saint Peter’s as a part of the Summorum Pontificum pilgrimage in October…the Summorum Pontificum Pilgrimage…

Money byte:

Leo has said his aim is unity and reconciliation in the church, and many conservatives and traditionalists have urged him to heal the liturgical divisions that spread over the Latin Mass, especially in the United States, during Francis' 12-year papacy.

Una Voce International, a federation of groups that promote the Latin Mass, is organizing the pilgrimage to Rome. In a statement, it said the green light for Burke to celebrate the Mass in the heart of the Vatican "is the first concrete indication of the attitude of Pope Leo XIV to the Traditional Mass."

Here is the full AP  news story by way of the NcR:

Traditionalists rejoice that top US cardinal allowed to celebrate old (Ancient Order)Latin Mass at St. Peter's

Fair enough compromise if it means Burke calls off the attack wolves

There are TLM haters among left-wing Catholics. But I doubt that the left's reaction to the TLM Mass in question will rival the right's mind-boggling, beyond gut-wrenching reaction, to the audience granted to Father Martin /the supposed Abomination of Desolation Mass.

The right spewed venom at Father Martin. But it has been Pope Leo XIV who has been beaten beyond recognition. Anyway, in regard to the scheduled TLM in question:

Will reactions from the left rival, for example, the following from Michael Matt:

"The LGBT group La Tenda di Gionata makes their entrance into St. Peter's Basilica...this the New Church...abomination of desolation in the Holy Place..."

=======

Compared to additional right-wing reactions in question, the above is mild.

There are examples of foul, obscene, right-wing denunciations of Pope Leo XIV/Father Martin that are bone-chilling.

Pax.
