One thing I do know about blog traffic, having seen with a blog of own, is how much of it is from google bots, and state security bots and personnel checking up on what citizens are reading....and how verious state securities spy on each other, me seeing a reader in hong kong, perhaps sending it to a friend in China, all manner of state activity both places immediately following, and then near immediately it showing up in a Russian search engine which also had an associated flurry of activity from bots....
I just hope nobody is getting in trouble, the most political thing said is to not trust worldly institutions to fix all problems, but even that idea is verbotten in many places.
Oops...forgot to mention many of the blog pings are also google bots linked to other google bots worldwide...they periodically hit even when viewership low, and pick up when viewership picks up...likely helping google to decide when and if the blog profitable enough to take over, as all content is theirs once posted....and they can vaporize content at their whim, so if you want it preserved, you best save it somewhere else...
