POPE FRANCIS CONTINUES TO DRIVE PROGRESSIVES TO DISTRACTION

2020

The pope's irresponsible behavior and those who defend it

Pope Francis has ignored a new Vatican decree on the mandatory use of facemasks

The Governorate of Vatican City this week made it "obligatory" for "every individual" to wear a facemask inside the offices and buildings of the tiny city-state and its extraterritorial areas, including when outdoors.

But the very next day Pope Francis held his Wednesday general audience inside the Paul VI Hall and he was not wearing a mask.

And neither were most of his aides or secretaries, despite the fact that the Governorate stated clearly that the new "norm must be constantly respected".

It further said that the Vatican health services, "even through the help of the gendarmerie", would enforce compliance. Representatives of the health and security departments were in the hall for the Oct. 7th general audience.

But since the pope was one of the "individuals" flouting the norm, there was precious little they could do – except react with the same disbelief and deep concern that many other people did who witnessed this irresponsible behavior.

Even people in the Vatican are shocked

I derive great happiness and edification from videos and photos of Pope Francis' interactions with the Faithful. The reason is that I encounter the tremendous love and joy that the
Holy People of God heap upon our holy and great Culture of Life Bishop of Rome — Pope Francis.

My brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ, via their joyful faces and actions, are keen to be with our holy and great shepherd, Pope Francis.

I observe that, as well as experience that, on the local level, when I, as well as additional laymen, are with our bishop, priests, deacons, and religious.

I am certain that Father McDonald, for example, receives tremendous love and respect from his flock.

I believe that the overwhelming amount of Patriarchs, Cardinals, bishops, priests, deacons, and religious, love God, are holy people, and love to serve Holy Mother Church/all Her children.

The Holy People of God love the clergy, and religious, who are in communion with Pope Francis.

Again, I am always filled with joy when I encounter uplifting videos and/or photos of the joy that is on display when His Holiness, Pope Francis, interacts with his flock.

Pax.

Aged 83 and with only one lung the Holy Father, should he contract Covid-19, is at high risk of dying from it. The risk to the young people surrounding him is negligible. To go forth unmuzzled is highly symbolic and shows courage and yes, humility. I'm not Pope Francis's greatest fan but on this occasion I take my hat off to him.

Mickens, it should be remembered, was fired by the ultra-liberal Tablet in 2014 for his comments about looking forward to 'the Rat's funeral' (a reference to the pope emeritus).
