Cardinal Dolan's prolife homily from last night as reported by Whispers in the Logia:
One week ago tonight – cigars all around, surrounded by his Roman students, and on the eve of what would inevitably be the most-watched moment of his life (leading the Scripture readings at the Inauguration of an American President) – it should be no surprise that the Cardinal-Archbishop of New York was even more fired up than usual...

...yet even as he carried the Church's patriotic part onto the Capitol's West Front, to know Timothy Michael Cardinal Dolan is to know how the "other shoe" still had yet to drop.

While the reigning occupant of 452 Madison ripped the leading Republican contender for the Presidency with the loaded charge of "nativism" during the primaries in light of Donald Trump's draconian stance on immigration, the eventual GOP nominee from just up Fifth Avenue responded in kind by defacing Gotham's long-sacred comity of the Al Smith Dinner as the Tenth Archbishop of the "Capital of the World" presided from the center of the Waldorf dais and a global audience looked on....

And, among other bits, that backstory brings us to tonight.

In his role as the US bishops' chair for pro-life activities – given the portfolio's significance, the bench's lone post always held by a cardinal – and all of 24 hours since the body's current scarlet-clad chief raised an oddly muted "alarm" from his Texas base over the 45th President's first Executive Orders on immigration (thus fulfilling the campaign's signal pledges), in leading the masses of the faithful toward tomorrow's March for Life in the capital, Dolan himself took up the wider pro-family, pro-Francis call with vigor... yet the packed crowd's customary rounds of applause to begin the rally somehow turned to crickets.

Arguably a reflection on the wider hierarchy's guarded stance toward the new administration – even for the firm pledges (and, indeed, first actions) from Trump & Co. on the ever-critical abortion front – this time around, the traditional flood of bishops on hand to kick off this year's nightlong Vigil in the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception ended up looking like more of a trickle.

And for the cardinal-chair to use a certain charged term on another life issue as the springboard for his marquee preach in the nation's largest church, well, do the math....

Anonymous said... this the same Cardinal that exiled Fr. Justin Wylie to a war zone because he said that the faithful should demand the Traditional Mass? Gee who was that in the Bible that sent an innocent man to die at the front of the battle.....

Solid social doctrine tied together to draw the thoughts of the congregation to the topic at hand. Yet this seems perfunctory in some ways and a bit diluted by other topics the Cardinal has on his mind. He is clearly a man of his times.

President Trump laid out Little Davie Muir for the networks ignoring the Pro Life Women while highlighting the Liberal Crybaby Women. The Network's solution was to edit out President Trump taking this liberal loon to the woodshed. All you libs who post here should be very proud of the evil networks. They are the successors to Joseph Goebbels. I guess you would love Goebbels because he was a big proponent of abortion like Der Fuhrer. Now which political party is the successor to Hitler? Whom?

I just hope that "traditional" Catholic media offer up-to-date coverage of the march.

As of this post, Rorate Caeli, for example, "the most-read international traditional Catholic blog," has elected to spew hatred at the Vicar of Christ, Pope Francis, as well as promote conspiracy theories to defame our Holy Father.

As of 4:00 P.M. Eastern time, here are today's important stories — that is, vile, anti-Catholic attacks against His Holiness Pope Francis — on Rorate's blog:

-- Money Money Money! This explains Malta! What a major coincidence!

"Exactly one week before (Dec. 15, 2016) the naming of the illegitimate commission (Dec. 22, 2016) created by the Pope in the Vatican Secretariat of State to "investigate" the dismissal of the Condom-Chancellor Von Boeselager, his brother had been named by the same Pope member of the Board of Superintendents of the Vatican Bank (the IOR, that carries the Vatican monies).

"Yes, mere coincidence!

"Maybe we can now call His Holiness FRANCI$CU$..."

How vile of Rorate Caeli! "Maybe we can now call His Holiness FRANCI$CU$..." Vicious anti-Catholicism. Totally anti-Catholic! What a disgraceful way to refer to the Vicar of Christ..."His Holiness FRANCI$CU$"

-- A Note on the Sovereignity of the Order of Malta and the Temporal Power of the Pope

-- Francis: a Pontificate of Violence and Irrationality - and remembering Pope Benedict

-- Op-Ed: "Francis destroys the Sovereign Order of Malta" - by Roberto de Mattei

Perhaps at some point today, Rorate Caeli will tire of publishing satanic attacks against Holy Mother Church and Her Papacy. Perhaps Rorate Caeli will turn to uplifting news, such as the March For Life.

Today, the liberal news media have offered greater coverage related to the March For Life as compared to that which Rorate Caeli has offered (or so far, has not offered).

Mark Thomas, why do you come on THIS blog to rail against OTHER blogs? Why don't you defend the Holy Father on the offending sites themselves? To come here and rail against other blogs only makes sense if you're engaged in ad-hominem attacks against other commenters that you assume subscribe to the same theories found on Rorate or The Remnant or Mundabor. But while I see a lot of complaining on this blog's combox, I don't see people, other than you, saying "go to Rorate and read their latest post". And before you bring out Denzinger to condemn me, I'm somewhat inclined to agree with you that a lot of the Francis-bashing is misguided and based on willful misunderstanding. There are problems, but we need to stay in the boat, even if it's adrift.

You know Blogger is free. You can start your own if you feel a mission to rebut every anti-papal screed on the interwebs.

Rorate Caeli isn't alone among the popular "traditional" Catholic blogs that I just checked for news that pertained to today's March For Life in Washington, D.C.

Only one "traditional" Catholic blog out the several that I just checked covered today's uplifting March For Life...just one.

The remain "traditional" Catholic blogs trafficked in their same old sick anti-Catholic attacks on God's Papacy and His Pope.

Today, via the liberal news media, I learned far, far more about the March For Life than from leading "traditional" Catholic blogs. "Traditional" Catholics blogs are too busy with their sick, depressing, satanic attacks against the Vicar of Christ to cover and promote the positive, uplifting, March For Life.

Several leading "traditional" Catholic blogs were too busy today to have covered the tremendously important and uplifting March For Life. They were too busy as they devoted their time to spewing satanic filth at the Vicar of Christ, Pope Francis.

However, His Holiness Pope Francis did not neglect the March For Life.

-- Pope Francis offers prayers, sends greetings to March for Life

Washington D.C., Jan 27, 2017 / 12:00 pm (CNA/EWTN News).- Pope Francis offered his greeting to participants at the 2017 March for Life in Washington, D.C., assuring them of his prayers and imparting his Apostolic Blessing upon all present.

In a papal telegram from Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Holy Father thanked the marchers for their witness to life.

“Pope Francis sends warm greetings and the assurance of his closeness in prayer to the many thousands of young people from throughout America gathered in the Archdiocese of Washington and the Diocese of Arlington for the annual March for Life,” the message said.

“His Holiness is profoundly grateful for this impressive testimony to the sacredness of every human life.”

The text of the telegram was included in a letter from Archbishop Christophe Pierre, apostolic nuncio to the United States, sent to Bishop Michael Burbidge of Arlington, Virginia.

The message quoted a passage from Pope Francis’ apostolic exhortation, Amoris Laetitia: “so great is the value of a human life, and so inalienable the right to life of an innocent child growing in the mother’s womb, that no alleged right…can justify a decision to terminate that life.”

Pope Francis, the message continued, “trusts that this event, in which so many American citizens speak out on behalf of the most defenseless of our brothers and sisters, will contribute to a mobilization of consciences in defense of the right to life and effective measures to ensure its adequate legal protection.”

Deo gratias for God having gifted us with His Holiness Pope Francis, a true defender and promoter of God's holy Culture of Life.

Deo gratias for Pope Francis' beautiful and uplifting blessing and support that he offered to March For Life participants.

Pope Francis' unwavering support for the Culture of Life should fill each pro-lifer with massive confidence and hope in knowing that the Vicar of Christ is on his/her side, in his/her corner, has his/her back.

Deo gratias for each pro-life marcher (and pro-life advocate everywhere).

Deo gratias for His Holiness Pope Francis, who defends "the sacredness of every human life."

If Pope Francis defends "the sacredness of human life" then why did he do photo opts with Obama and tolerate fake Catholics like Nancy Pelosi? He surely must know, unless he is incredibly naive, that he was being exploited by the political left for its own evil ends. Did he denounce Abortion or Gay marriage when he saw Obama? If not, he's an epic fail as a Shepard to the faithful in the US and elsewhere where these intrinsic evils exist.

(now be please be prepared for endless non sequiturs from "you know who")

Oh Mark Thomas please don't be so melodramatic about we Traditional Roman Catholics leave that up to Francis to put us down on a daily basis, I shan't shed a tear about what Rome calls us, we will hold on to the True Mass and Holy Faith, remember sir we have not changed it is you and Rome who changed the Faith.

Lest you forget sir, Popes ARE NOT PERFECT they have strayed over the centuries and yes have taught heresy, that said it does not make us anti-Catholic and ant-papist, that sir is a tactic of the LEFT call us names and put us down, well 50 plus years in the wilderness are coming to an end, for we have had it up to here with the destruction of the Holy Faith. Why don't you open your eyes and take a look at "former" Catholic Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, France, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Catholic areas of Holland and the Rhineland and Bavaria of Germany and YES even once Catholic Italy and you tell me sir what Vatican II did to spread the Holy Faith? Liberals cannot give facts, they never can, the tactic is to name call and that is it. Islam is so entrenched in Europe it will never go away, I state this as fact, that ISLAM will prevail in Europe within two decades. How you ask? Here it is, when a society has lost its faith as Europe has and no longer has children as Europe has, one has nothing to fight and die for. Islam on the other hand has a strong faith and have multitudes of children, for this I give them credit, that is why they believe their faith is the TRUE faith, just like ROME ONCE TAUGHT THAT IT HELD THE TRUE FAITH. Now do you get it??????????????????????????????

As a reader of Conservative blogs such as Breitbart, Drudge Report, Gateway Pundit, Newsmax, the comments sections on all of these have become increasingly anti-Catholic and the fact to that is one person and one person only:BERGOGLIO. I completely understand WHY the comments are being made about Roman Catholicism, when you have a Pope who touts the Communist agenda on a daily basis of course there will attacks against the Church simply obvious. I understand I will be attacked here for stating the truth however the truth must be stated. Bergoglio has opened the flood gates of Europe along with Merkel of Germany to MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of MUSLIMS and this Spring the gates will be wide open once more. These are NOT immigrants folks these are YOUNG FIGHTING AGE MEN about 80% healthy and robust, cell phones in hand, NOT WOMEN AND CHILDREN as MSNBC, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, NRP, NEW YORK TIMES AND HOLLYWOOD want you to believe. This and many other issues are the reason for the anti-Catholic comments I see daily, when Rome has a coronation for Raymond Cardinal Burke as our next Roman Pontiff then and only then will sanity return to Rome, but will it be to late for once Christian Europe?
