OCTOBER, THE MONTH OF OUR LADY OF THE MOST HOLY ROSARY

Every year for the last several years, St. Joseph Church has celebrated a solemn recitation of the Most Holy Rosary within the context of Exposition and Benediction of the Most Holy Trinity. Our next celebration will be this coming Tuesday, October 7 at 7:00 PM and it will be similar to the one we videoed in 2010!

I had forgotten that we had placed this on YouTube, but I don't think I placed it on my blog since I wasn't doing my blog in 2010! So a blast from the past! It's long but O so nice!

Yes, this is nice. Interesting how far you have come in only four years. Gives a person lots of hope.

how liturgical is it to expose the blessed sacrament during a marian hymn? to me the whole service is rather confused and doesn't follow the new order for exposition and benediction.

Fr. Jim I see your point and feel your pain but Pope Francis has a point about small minded rules that get in the way of people's popular piety and devotion. The question in popular devotions (and yes this is a liturgy of sorts but more a popular devotion that allows for great flexibility) is how does it touch the human heart and lead the soul to Christ through Mary?

Protestants and others outside the Church look at out Marian devotions, point to us, and assert that for us it is all about her. They do not understand at all. Who Mary is and whatever she does or in whatever way she is represented always in one way or the other points to the Divinity.
