If it is true, what Cardinal Kaspar is reported to have said in the now taken down interview and its horrible implications for Pope Francis, and now under great pressure to recant such a thing, then there is a great deal of intrigue here the likes of which haven't been seen in centuries and makes the scandals surrounding Pope Benedict seem like child's play!
Here it goes as unbelievable as it seems!
Cardinal emeritus Walter Kasper in a conversation with Kath.net has strongly denied the alleged statements made about African Bishops.
“I am shocked. I have never spoken like this about Africans, and I would never do so. Zenit has, in the past days and weeks, never reached out to me, nor has it had an interview with me,” he is quoted as saying.
He stated that he intends to confront Zenit about this. Kath.net had already pointed out in its reporting about the Zenit interview that there were already questions about whether the interview had been authorized. The interview in question no longer appears on the Zenit site.

Zenit, not Zenith.
Edward Pentin has a recording of the interview posted on his blog. Sorry your Eminence, you got caught.
From my lonnggg life experience, those who deny the loudest (tending to scream "it's a lie") are usually those with the most to hide, hence the most to lose. Unfortunately this truism is particularly rampant in the world of our church, both historically and presently. May God grant us all wisdom and patience with such as these.
It gets better Father.
Here is the statement by the reporter and a recording from which the transcript was made.
Kyrie, eleison.

Maybe when he was answering questions for the Register, he thought he was talking to the Reporter?
Carol, good one! Or maybe he just assumes we are all mindless and easily led down his path because he is a high-ranking cleric?
