I DETECT A BIT OF ANGER IN THE GOOD AFRICAN CARDINAL'S VOICE

This seems fair and balanced!

Gee it's funny how such a large document was written overnight and translated perfectly into so many languages ready for the world's press. A suspicious mind would think that this was written months ago by someone in a very high position who wanted to advance his personal views.

6000 words is not in fact, a very lengthy document, particularly if it is summarizing of content throughout the week. Secondly, Google can translate documents instantaneously - not perfectly, but a usable point to the have expert linguists work from...

Here's a conspiracy theory for you "grassy knollers"

The Church is thriving among Hispanics and Africans. It is declining...dramatically...in western Europe and in North America. Overall, the number of Catholics may be growing, but the new numbers are mostly very poor people, The Church wants and needs the support (say "Money") of the folks who have left it. Gay couples are usually well fixed...those MANY married and divorced Catholics aren't at Mass....nothing in the collection basket. If EVERYBODY is welcome and most of them show up,,,I imagine you see where this is going... Just a thought....

Who's in charge?

I would add one caveat to this Tevye.

With the decline of Western society, gay couples are not per say wealthier. They are in fact middle and upper middle class people who happen to be gay (or whatever) and can influence the political arena. They, like the rest of their class, have entitlement issues.

But the Church is still there for the many that do not fit into the cookie-cutter image of white-washed, middle-class sodomy and deviancy. For example, the homeless transsexual prostitute who is trying to treat HIV, etc. Those same middle-class entitlement hypocrites have no time for the true suffering of those who are, in fact, not like them, poor. The Church is there for them.

But I know a certain Cardinal who flies back on forth to Rome first-class (everytime) needs those dollars to keep-up his lifestyle and the National Shrine. Godbless him!
