BRICK LAYING IS A SLOW JOB IF IT IS TO BE DONE WELL AND POPE LEO IS RESTORING THINGS AT THE VATICAN BRICK BY BRICK

How Pope Leo is Reshuffling the Curia: Musical Chairs and Power Games

Randazzo named Prefect for Legislative Texts as modernists are sidelined

by Serre Verweij

This is the conclusion of a great article I just read at Rorate Caeli. Brick by brick, Pope Leo is showing the world that His Holiness in secret, though, isn’t Pope Francis II but rather Pope Benedict XVII.

This is the conclusion to the post by Rorate Caeli:

Conclusion
Pope Leo XIV is finally showing his hand. Unambiguously orthodox prelates are back in fashion, and canon law has returned to its supreme position. The era of personal favoritism is over. Those who expected Leo to institutionalize the "Francis Revolution" were mistaken.
The question now is which of Francis’s other policies will be reversed. Will the Curia return to the dominance it enjoyed under John Paul II? What is the future of the seminaries? These shifts suggest a papacy that is not just "conservative," but one intent on a total restoration of order.

I regret that the author calls this papacy “conservative “ a political descriptor, he should have used the religious word for it. This papacy is orthodox! You can read the full article with great insights into Pope Benedict XVII by pressing the Rorate title at the top of this post!

I wonder if the photographer saw the connection I saw. It’s genius.

Speaking of Rorate Caeli...and in regard to additional Catholic factions:

Pope Leo XIV has taken a verbal beating throughout his Pontificate from folks who have viewed many of his episcopal appointments as having advanced modernism/homosexuality.

Such is the case in regard to Pope Leo XIV's following appointment two days ago:

Holy See Press Office: "The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Heiner Wilmer, S.C.I., hitherto of Hildesheim, as bishop of Münster, Germany."

=======

Rorate Caeli has long identified Bishop Heiner Wilmer, S.C.I., as a modernist/destroyer of the Church.

Rorate Caeli's negative assessment of Bishop Wilmer, as well as negative assessments of the bishop via additional like-minded blogs, has suggested to me that he is a fine bishop.

Bishop Wilmer enjoyed Pope Francis' (requiescat in pace) confidence...and now, Pope Leo XIV's confidence.

Nevertheless, in regard to Bishop Wilmer: National Catholic Register had reported last month various "controversial" views held by the bishop.

Example: "Wilmer’s voting record places him firmly among the supporters of the controversial German process..."

"The bishop voted consistently with the Synodal Way, the 2019–2023 event that passed resolutions calling for the blessing of same-sex unions and other changes that drew sharp criticism from Rome and bishops’ conferences around the world."

"According to the Register, Bishop Wilmer was also considered — but ultimately not chosen — by Pope Francis in late 2022 to head the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith."

=======

In regard to the above, and to return to Rorate Caeli's bleak assessment of Bishop Wilmer:

Rorate Caeli denounced Bishop Wilmer as "an ultra-progressive bishop...Über-Modernist German Bishop..."

Rorate Caeli claimed that Pope Francis' support of Bishop Wilmer had spurred a revolt among Cardinals which, in, turn backed Pope Francis down.

Well, the following is certain: His Holiness, Pope Leo XIV, has not backed down in regard to his powerful support of supposed "ultra-progressive...Über-Modernist" Bishop Wilmer.

If I were a right-winger, then I would agree that Pope Leo XIV's appointment of Bishop Wilmer is catastrophic for the Church in Germany and beyond.

But I am thankful that I do not carry right-wing baggage.

Pax.

The author of the post is Serre Verweij. Are you accusing him of calumny and what does your diatribe have to do with what he writes in his commentary? Inquiring minds would like to know…btw, it might do you well to identify as a sinning right-winger rather than the perfect Pharisee. Remember that Gospel and the sinner only saying, have mercy on me a sinner….just saying….
