In contrast to this very good news, here's another "fruit" of Vatican II:
: Chapel of the Ursulines in Québec City deconsecrated
On November 6th, 2025, a glorious history came to an end: the chapel of the Ursulines in the city of Quebec was deconsecrated.
The Ursulines first arrived in New France in 1639, founded by Saint Mary of the Incarnation, and their monastery became the first institution for the teaching of women in all of North America (north of New Spain).
They survived the bitter cold, famine, wars, the British conquest, the upheavals of the American Revolution, the two world wars in which Canada played so noble a part -- they survived everything, except Vatican II.
Vatican II, and the huge part it played in the secular "Silent Revolution" that destroyed the Catholic soul of French Canada. With Vatican II, the habits and veils went away, and emptiness triumphed.
Some remaining Ursulines will remain in the city, but their chapel became too big in recent decades, and was deconsecrated. Tragic beyond belief, especially considering that female orders that kept Tradition have thrived.
Catholicism in French Canada went from Jansenism to crazed liberalism virtually over night. I was was stuck in the middle of it. And yes, Vatican II was the catalyst.
"Vatican II, and the huge part it played in the secular "Silent Revolution" that destroyed the Catholic soul of French Canada."
And
"Catholicism in French Canada went from Jansenism to crazed liberalism virtually over night. I was was stuck in the middle of it. And yes, Vatican II was the catalyst."
All stated with ZERO evidence. Correlation does not imply causation.
That being said, I was in that chapel and the Ursuline museum in late October. Very worth visiting if you are in Quebec City.

If Pope Leo does not add Cor Orans to things done by his successor to be undone, I suspect we'll see more and more and more of this. Undoing Cor Orans might give us a shot at just seeing more, but not as much more.

William, you will probably get some sociological mumbo jumbo from someone sayingthat it was "society" and not Vatican II. Strange, I don't think the Orthodox went off the rails in the 1960s? Too bad the Catholic Church didn't follow that approach. The Church is most influential when it is counter-cultural, not following the culture of the times.
LOL - I knew our resident sociologist would take the bait! There is tons of evidence but you and our looney hierarchy choose to ignore it. What would you want signed and notarized affidavits from disgusted Catholics to prove it? What we can say, is the reforms have been a flop. The Church has less believers attending Sunday Mass and paying the bills. Orders have collapsed and Catholic institutions have closed even in places where there are still plenty of nominal Catholics who choose to stay away from the "New Springtime."
In regard to Vatican II:
It is full steam ahead, as Pope Leo XIV had made clear on May 10, 2025 A.D.
"In this regard, I would like us to renew together today our complete commitment to the path that the universal Church has now followed for decades in the wake of the Second Vatican Council.
"Pope Francis masterfully and concretely set it forth in the Apostolic Exhortation Evangelii Gaudium, from which I would like to highlight several fundamental points..."
=======
If, as certain folks would have us believe, Vatican II is rotten to its core...destructive...
Then it will be more of the same within the Church as Pope Leo XIV, in line with his predecessors, beginning with Pope Saint John XXIII, is unrelenting in his support, as well as promotion of, the Vatican II.
Pax.

Pope (Emeritus) Benedict XVI, 2022 A.D:
The Second Vatican Council was "not only meaningful, but necessary."
But TJM, the bowling clubs have collapsed too! Ignore the data about persistent religious attendance of Protestants and non-Christians that runs contrary to the unsupported assertion that every religion is losing adherents just as much as Roman Catholicism!

Hopefully in the next couple of decades, Vatican II will be demoted because it was and is a failure, and Trent promoted because it was an overwhelming success. Of course, the braindead will not recognize these inconvenient facts.
