Well, I am sure some of Hells’ Angels are boasting of Pope Leo’s affirmation and blessing of their lifestyles so they don’t feel excluded but included.

The Vatican filmed this as confirmation of Pope Leo’s largesse!

What’s the Hell’s Angel lifestyle?
I never knew HA’s were involved in organised crime. Let’s hope they’re reformed nowadays. Donating a motorcycle to be auctioned for charity is a good sign!
Many years ago I was invited by the local Harley Owners' Group to take part in the annual blessing of their motorcycles which was to take place at the City Market area in downtown Savannah. Also participating were a Methodist minister and a rabbi.
I was surprised when I arrived as there were 200+ motorcycles parked all over the streets of the area. More surprising was that the rabbi involved was Avigdor Slatus (love the name) from Congregation Bnai Brith Jacob, the Orthodox synagogue here in Savannah. Orthodox rabbis rarely - RARELY - participate in interreligious events, though the lightheartedness of this gathering may have provided an opening.
We each did our part, with Rabbi Slatus going last. He said that is might have been the first time in recorded history that a rabbi has blessed HOGS - the Harley Owners' Group. HOG....
In Nogalas, Mexico, directly across the border from Nogalas, USA, is a little hillside chapel built by a notorious prostitute. God writes straight with crooked lines!
I had forgotten this until I read FRMJK's comment. When I was a naive parochial vicar in Albany, GA, the sister of a man, her brother, who was murdered by a motorcycle gang member, asked me if I would celebrate a funeral Mass for her brother. She was a practicing Catholic; he was brought up a Catholic. I said yes. The day of the funeral in the Church, about 100 motor cycles and their riders showed up for the funeral and then were a part of the procession from the Church to the cemetery for the Rite of Committal. And yes, these were true Hell's Angels! It was a bit uncomfortable for me as a newly ordained priest to have this spectacle going on in the Church and on the highway, with me as the leader of the gang going to the cemetery!
Ha!

The things we learn along the way.... I had a funeral when I was in Springfield of a young man who had died tragically. The friends - he had no family - asked if the flag could be placed on the casket when we got to the cemetery. I said that would be fine.
When we arrived at the gravesite, the funeral directors slid the casket out of the hearse. As the pallbearers stepped up, one pulled the flag out of his pocket. It was a wrinkled 3ft x 5ft Confederate battle flag which he placed on top of the casket.
ALL of the cemetery workers were black.
The funeral director apologized to me as we got started - he was not aware that the emblem of the Lost Cause was the flag of choice. Afterwards, both of us apologized to the cemetery workers....
