JUST AS THE CHURCH IS LEADING THE WAY TO CONTROL CLIMATE CHANGE, SO NOW THE CHRUCH MUST CONTROL EARTHQUAKES AND OTHER “ACTS OF GOD”

If we put our minds to it, like climate change, we can control it and with earthquakes, we can too. With us, all things are possible!

But still, I wonder how we can control the climate and earthquakes?

Ah, the arrogance of man, who will undoubtedly master all the secrets of the universe and become a god.

We MIGHT be contributing to global warming, but nothing really stands out in long term natural variation, while we surely have figured out how to make earthquakes via deep well injection now troubling my area.

But anybody can wreck a car, while driving proficiently another matter.

I am far more concerned with radiation from power transmission and pollution of environment by plastics and chemicals, which eco-warriors ignore whilst driving their toxic battery powered cars and planning their next vandalism on disposable consumer electronics.

"The earth does go through natural cycles of warming and cooling caused by factors such as changes in the sun or volcanic activity. For example, there were times in the distant past when the earth was warmer than it is now. However, natural variations in climate do not explain today's climate change. Feb 12, 2024" (EPA)

But John Kerry, gigolo extraordinaire, says we are causing climate change while he takes off in his private jet and lives in multiple McMansions! Only the little people need to make sacrifices!

Father K., I could again post this link to how experts (ignoring covid) are wrong...please notice the authorities listed in all these press releases...
https://cei.org/blog/wrong-again-50-years-of-failed-eco-pocalyptic-predictions/

However, they MIGHT be right, THIS time...
But it does not change at all my thoughts of plastic (essentially manmade flesh) engrainment throughout environment and all life forms, broadcast and line radiation, and chemical pollution (you cannot eat fish without mercury nor rice without arsenic today) are far more pressing problems over warming we MIGHT be contributing towards...these other problems we KNOW we are causing.

Yet, John Kerry, gigolo extraordinaire, uses private jets, his yacht and several mansions. Sacrifices are for the little people, not Dem Swells, yet our idiot bishops and priests vote for these pharisees!

Foe decades, our holy Popes have insisted that climate change is real. But should one reject the notion that climate change is real, there remains the following: Our holy Popes have declared that we are called to serve as good stewards of God's Creation.

Example: Pope Benedict XVI, homily at Loreto, Italy, September 2, 2007 A.D:

"Following Christ, dear young people, also entails the constant effort to make one's own contribution to building a society that is more just and sober and in which all may enjoy the goods of the earth."

"There is no doubt that one of the fields in which it seems urgent to take action is that of safeguarding creation."

"The future of the planet is entrusted to the new generations, in which there are evident signs of a development that has not always been able to protect the delicate balances of nature."

"Before it is too late, it is necessary to make courageous decisions that can recreate a strong alliance between humankind and the earth."

"A decisive "yes" is needed to protect creation and also a strong commitment to invert those trends which risk leading to irreversibly degrading situations."

"I therefore appreciated the Italian Church's initiative to encourage sensitivity to the problems of safeguarding creation by establishing a National Day, which occurs precisely on 1 September."

"This year attention is focused above all on water, a very precious good which, if it is not shared fairly and peacefully, will unfortunately become a cause of harsh tensions and bitter conflicts."

MT, don’t be silly. On one hand we certainly are call to be good stewards of creation and all that God has given us to include our spiritual and physical bodies. However, no matter how well or how poorly we take care of our own bodies of the body that is the earth, it is all coming to a conclusion. I say to you, apart for good stewardship, to repent and believe, for tomorrow you may die as well as the earth. That is the way of things on this side of heaven. We need popes, bishops and priests and laity to call everyone to be prepared. For at an hour you do not expect, this life ends for us individually and for creation collectively!

Fr McDonald,

Thanks for trying to cheer me up!

Within the realm of American politics, the determination in recent years to address climate change has been embraced by a certain amount of Republicans. The Conservative Climate Caucus, for example, founded in 2021 A.D, is a caucus within the House of Representatives. Said caucus declared:

"The climate is changing, and decades of a global industrial era that has brought prosperity to the world has also contributed to that change."

In turn, the Conservative Climate Caucus has addressed climate change via "policies and legislation consistent with conservative values."

Politico, just a few weeks ago, published the following story:

https://www.politico.com/news/2024/02/20/more-republicans-now-want-climate-action-but-trump-could-derail-everything-00142313

-- Trump vs. an emerging Republican climate strategy

"Former President Donald Trump’s hard-line positions on climate change aren’t deterring some members of his party from backing policies to stop global warming."

Father McDonald, I am on board with..."However, no matter how well or how poorly we take care of our own bodies of the body that is the earth, it is all coming to a conclusion. I say to you, apart for good stewardship, to repent and believe, for tomorrow you may die as well as the earth."

However, we can act as good stewards of our bodies, as well earth, while striving for holiness as we prepare for our eventual hour of death.

Father, I believe that you practice good stewardship in regard to your body, as well as Earth. You also are, as Holy Mother Church's loyal son, a good steward of your soul. One is able to do both.

Pax.
