Father, rub shaving cream on your glasses. Clean. Your glasses will not fog.Pax.Mark Thomas
The CDC did not recommend masks for a slew of good reasons, ranging from them needing to be conserved only for highest at-risk folk (those in hospitals), also that they would be wearing any old size poorly fitted mask not sealing worth squat nor even a properly sized one adjusted to seal and a total waste of shortage resources, to folk assuming no distancing then required, to likely many (as i see personally) wearing a mask while forgetful of hands entirely, just this morning watching a guy with a bandana pumping gas with bare hands, placing and removing bandana prior to entering store, handling wallet, door handles, gas cap, steering wheel and all other truck controls ....the biggest real danger is folk will now be placing hands all over faces while playing with masks...and likely never washed masks growing ever more contaminated from unwashed hands...and interior of mask exposed while worn dangling as a necklace when not over mouth and nose, and interior also touched with contaminated hands when redonning...they have, with greatest reservations, decided perhaps those who will self-infect will be made up for by more sneezes/coughs will be partially covered where so many STILL are not attempting at all, or are using hand and then touching everything.A FRESH t-shirt or anti-microbial pillow case fabric sample will catch about 70% of 1 micron particles....if you want to know how effective such a mask is against a virus, merely visualize how much help it would be against smoke or when grinding paint...a double layer adds very little protection with those two prior....a dishcloth blocks about 80%, and gets up near 94% when doubled, but good luck breathing through most of these, where many already congested from pollen and allergies people, as well as the elderly and/or ill will find much of this nearly or actually impossible to wear...Some effective materials might be vacuum cleaner bags, air filters for home, etc, but with every local government shutting most places not dealing with food, supplies will be extremely limited for effective mask making supplies...and mainly, this all is muchly about the slobs rather than any protection during normal breathing by healthy people,... and sneezes/coughs with a mask has the mask seal (if it has one at all) totally and literally blown and will have only a slight aid in transmission as far as I can see...For any shopping in a big box store where EVERYbody, infected or not, eventually must shop, and in cramped and stuffy local stores, I MIGHT cover face, not knowing who just sneezed and where and when just before own arrival....my homemade "mask" a stifling polypropylene microfiber fleece neck gaiter over mouth and nose, perhaps backed by a coffee filter hiding inside if not too restrictive...I own several gaiters, they wash and hang dry quickly, and coffee filters are non-woven poly fiber same as many other filters...both will be donned with clean hands, doffed with gloves, filter discarded with gloves, and gaiter going in washer after each use...All of which I consider far riskier than just keeping hands off face until gloves removed and/or hands washed....the vast majority of infections are coming from hand contact.....
The blame lies at the foot of the Communist People's Republic of China they knew all along about this Wuhan virus and did and said NOTHING! In the USA for months and months the Democrats and their allies in the Left Wing media screamed IMPEACH IMPEACH IMPEACH day in and day out while President trump imposed a blockade from anyone coming in from China and was called a Xenophobe and racist, now Joe Biden and others have said he did the RIGHT thing really? Just a few day's ago he was a Xenophobe now he was right all along, the Left makes me sick to my stomach. President Trump may have saved millions of American lives by closing our borders and standing up to the Democrats and their MSM allies.
Father, since this will likely go on for a while, and you already have received good anti-fog advice, and might be playing McDonald's Drive Thru in windy rain blowing under the porta-cochère this spring, some wetted tobacco rubbed on lenses and flicked/blown off will do a nice Rain-X job for spell, and good to know if wipers quit or a blade fails in the rain to get you home.
Yet, we have evil cardinals, bishops and priests who support the Abortion Party. Thank God, we have priests like Father McDonald who continue to minister to their flocks
