CHICAGO BEE STRIKES AGAIN WITH KEEN OBSERVATIONS

Bee here:

As we watch this latest world crises unfold, and it is truly global, it is interesting to reflect on some aspects of the world we have created for ourselves that are false and delusional and fall apart when reality hits.

It seems when we get too big for our britches, God allows something to shock us into reality. And even though the event is often painful and horribly tragic to us, it is, at its heart, merciful for Him to do so, because by the experience our eyes are opened to some aspect of reality we had been ignoring or denying.

I am seeing very many aspects of modern life being shaken to the core. Many parents are home with their kids, and acting for this time as educators, and primary authority. How healthy is that!! Our consumerist materialistic society is shaken and people are plunged into having to find value outside of buying and having things. And maybe most importantly, the illusion that death is remote has been blown to pieces. And when those who still believe it will not happen to them see someone they know die an untimely death, it will be too real to deny.

One can see the possibility of good coming out of all of this, for people to make decisions for the better. I pray the experience will allow people to see what is really important, and what is more true, and choose those things.

With regards to the Church and the Mass, (I am thinking this is probably impossible, but) I pray our Church leaders, especially the Pope, will realize that the Church has has drifted away from her core doctrine and praxis in the last 60 years and needs to get back to those things, the things Fr. McD often cites as needing to be restored. I am thinking it is impossible because not even the clerical sex abuse scandals being exposed for all to see caused them to repent. Not even empty pews has caused them to repent. It seems they are, excuse the expression, "hell bent" to continue on the path they have been on the last 60 years or so (or maybe it's more) until they destroy the Church.

I know it is often cited that Our Lady has promised "In the end my Immaculate Heart will triumph." I know eventually, perhaps after I have left this earthly plane, this will come to pass. But I can't help but think events such as the present day crises are allowed by God to prompt His people to turn away from their deadly pursuits and return to Him, or else there will be even bigger hell to pay in the future.

God bless.

Bee,

Beautiful statement which contains so much wisdom. I hope members of the clergy who read this website read this and take your words to heart.

God bless you and keep you safe

These Bishops are not a bit concerned about the salvation of souls and for over 100 years Pope’s have blown off our Blessed Mother’s request to consecrate Russia to her Immaculate heart.

Penance Penance Penance

That’s our mission and our hope is in the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

I just recently read the story of the instantaneous cure of an Illinois woman, a mother of eight (of five, plus her unborn child, at the time of the miraculous event). This became the second miracle needed for the canonization of Cardinal (and now Saint) John Henry Newman. Although it had happened back in 2013 it was only now that I got around to reading it and I found it very moving and inspiring. It was only a few years prior to that year that another miracle occurred ( in the same state, Illinois) that involved a young mother whose son was stillborn and had not breathed for over an hour. In Medical literature, the longest that a child had survived without a heartbeat and respiration was 20 minutes, and yet through the prayer of the mother to Archbishop Sheen, the child came to life and survived in good health.

Reading about these two miraculous events, it came to my mind that, despite the less than exemplary image of the state(understandably) in the minds of some, there are, as in other places, good faithful Catholics residing there. And the vast majority of them attend the Novus Ordo because that is what is available to them. Not that there are more than a few, such as myself, who would attend the Latin mass if it was also available. It's good to keep in my that there are always those who strive to be good and holy Catholics no matter what parochial or liturgical circumstances that they find themselves in.

And it's not that " the Church that has drifted away from her core doctrine". That can't happen. It's that too many of her members have (and yes, that includes priests and bishops). And it is in that group where the praxis has fallen down. So it's the Body of Christ that needs to be mended, healed, and restored and our task is, as often as we can, to pray and offer our sacrifices to that end.

No.

Holy Mother Church has, during the past 60 years, defended and promoted the True Religion.

LOL - where, on Pluto or Saturn?

I would prefer OF Mass in the manner promoted by Father McDonald.

However, in parts of the world, such as Africa and Asia, where the Church is booming in holy fashion, why tinker with the Mass?
